These are typical bamboo shades often used on patios to cut the sun. The cocoa color adds warmth. They might deteriorate quickly if exposed to outdoor sun, rain and wind as both the reeds and fittings are lightweight. I installed them inside to cut the glare without losing the view. The imperfections actually add interest. They warm and soften the ambience of the room. During the day, I can see the view a little blurred and softened. No one can see in. At night, I cannot see outside except for bright lights; however if the room is well lit they do not provide privacy. I lined one of the shades with drop cloth fabric in a bedroom, but it loses some of the charm. I hung them in a few minutes with 3/4" cupholders. The toprail tends to sag a little, and will probably become worse over time. I plan to put a narrow cornice across the top to hide the gap created by the hangers and the sag in the toprail. I had planned to use these as a short term solution while I searched for expensive window coverings; now I think these add a unique character to the room and they are here for good. The shades roll easily and hold at any point as long as you control the roll and go slowly. The cords are probably a risk for little kids and maybe pets.

For the price I was very disappointed! Poor quality!

Easy to install, these are on a West facing screened porch in hot Florida, we were looking for something to block the extreme sun rays, yet still see out...........these are perfect

Cons:NOT a SHADE - almost see-thru; cheaply made, no hanging hooks, shedding all over floors, zip-ties?!?!?Ad never shows WHAT SIDE operates?
