1st issue - Metric dimensions are meaningless to me, we use "gauge" to differentiate sizes. The red does not work on14 & 16 gauge. 2nd issue - have found a number of taps that still have plastic where it should be open for the male spade to be inserted. If I had known this in advance, I would not have purchased this. However, even with these 2 issues, it's still worth $7.58.

never use the t taped always spliced into. recommend using to save time and hassle

I used a handful of the red ones to wire up a car alarm. They worked fine. Much better than I expected for the price. The insulation seems to be good-quality plastic.

I don't know if this has something to do with the wire being too small of gauge or the insulation being too soft, but none of the T-taps were able to adequately slice through the insulation of the wire. I had to remove the T-tap, strip away a tiny fraction of the insulation, and then put the T-tap back on.The spade connectors were easy to crimp, but the orange protector doesn't stay on. When you go to disconnect them from the T-taps, the protector just slides off with the connector still attached. You have to grasp the metal bit in order to pull the connector off and then manually reseat the orange protector, which isn't great from a safety perspective. Would've been 5 stars if it weren't for this.

I added them to my kit and used them to hook up all my lights. They are good quality and obviously functional. Very nice storage box too.
