Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box

When I read about this, the reviews were awesome, and the machine is mostly great. I was struggle with scooping my cats litter regularly enough. I like that this has an app, and that it can be set up to automatically clean after kitty is done. Here are my not so favorite things though now that I’ve been using it for awhile:1. I’m confused what litter is best for this machine. The instructions it gave I can’t find litter that says the same things that the manual requests. Idk if that makes sense..2. The bags say they’re full, and the machine has a hard time if just the bottom of the bag fills up. Idk it’s just you would think more if the bag could get filled. However, maybe it’s necessary to change it to help keep up with odor, so maybe it’s for the best it gets changed. I find that I have to do 2-3 bags per week for my 12 pound cat.3. My cat’s urine somehow seeps through the cracks of this machine, and can be seen a little on the outside after like 4-5 days. I think one time I let it go past 7 days, and there was was pee on the floor. So gross! I did increase the clumping time from 3-6 minutes to see if that might help.4. The cleaning to me is so frustrating. I try and spray it with super hot water the best I can. It just seems to not come all the way clean anymore with the way the part that hold the litter is connected to the barrel. Like it seems like litter, dirt, grime, piss lol idk is like trapped in the creases. I will spray the thing for quite some time, and I can’t get rid of the pee smell. Thankfully, it’s not noticeable from a distance stance, but a regular litter box (not self cleaning) had always been able to get completely clean and no smell. I just don’t know if other self cleaning cat boxes gave the same issues because this is the first one I’ve tried.5. These all might be dumb things I’m doing that no one else would overlook? Idk.. when you go to clean the barrel, you have to unplug the machine, and then on the back of the machine, there is this thing you have to lift to remove the barrel, and it took me a little bit to figure that out Hahaha. A video would have been helpful for that or even a picture that better conveys how it opens and closes.6. Now that the sticker came off for the guide on how high to fill the litter, I’m never sure if I’m putting too much litter in there. I had been buying cardboard boxes of litter, but it’s such a pain to get the litter in the barrel. I pour it in a cup, but the opening of the gain scented litter clearly wasn’t intended to be poured into a big cup lol. I’m definitely gonna try and go with a plastic tub of litter or something that comes in a bag from here on out.I’m glad I tried this out because it was cheaper than the popular brand one and had good reviews.I’m glad it has this sensor so it won’t clean until Miss kitty is done standing in front of it waiting for it to clean hahaha. She is super intrigued by her new litter box. Initially the box kind of scared her a little bit and she really looked anxious that this thing was moving on it’s own lol. Now she is way less afraid of it, but really wants to be able to watch the thing clean itself. She is too funny. She’s 10, and it’s her first self cleaning litter box.She never hesitated to use it, and I’ve had no issues with her adjusting to it. I know this may sound weird but I kind of do like being notified everyone she goes to the bathroom because it helps me know she’s going regularly. Whereas, if she had a day or two where she didn’t use it like at all, it would be evident that she’s not following the normal pattern and may need to see the vet. So that part gives me some comfort as she she’s.Overall, I’ll say it was a bit of an adjustment but I will do what it takes to keep it clean since Miss kitty is naughty and gets on pretty much all furniture. I know she is getting in the counters when I’m sleeping because sometimes I see feet prints on the glass oven top lol. So I obviously want to make sure there is the least amount of transferring of her excrements to the rest of the home.. ugh.. litter in general to me is the only downfall of having a cat. Aside from the occasional broken glass object she decides to knock on the floor…HAHGoodluck if you decide to purchase one too. I can’t decide if I’d get the white one again bc it shows everything, but then again, that’s kind of a good thing so you can clean it really well. To each their own.Oh, one last thing. Make sure your bag is under the clips and stays tight up to the opening. Otherwise it will come out and will be a very big mess. Take your time with getting the bag secured nice and tight.

Very easy to put together. It looks very sleek and modern. A little smaller than I thought but perfect for a second litter box for home.

I think it’s a good litter box, my cat is just scared of the door and it doesn’t seem to be removable.

It’s been a month now that we have owned this thing and I love it. I read people’s reviews on Amazon before I buy something (especially something so expensive) so I try to be thorough with my own! So after one month STILL AMAZING love this thing so much and I think our cats are extremely happy as well! Two days ago I finally used the dump litter feature and that was so easy also. I change out the bag every 3 days with 3 cats using the box and each time I add a scoop of fresh litter to get it back to the fill mark. So a large box of arm and hammer clump and seal slide multi cat (the purple one) lasted for a full month. Still amazed at how there is no loose litter in the bin with the waste. I wasn’t even capable of that with my human scooping before. The box has faithfully told me through the app when the collection bin if “full” and most times I have shaken it to even the waste out and went on to let it do its thing another 12 hours before changing the bag. Love the PETKIT bags for this unit… they are strong and haven’t even thought about ripping and making a mess. If you have several cats using the box you need to keep labeling them for a while before the box will start to automatically label who was in there. It becomes pretty apparent though because I now know that Superman the cat spends the most time in there (3 mins and 20 something seconds each time) and Winter the cat only stays in for a minute or so. Freya is the curious one and constantly stands on the edge to see what it’s doing 😂 If you have a extremely nosy cat you should enable the “don’t repeat clean” so it doesn’t clean unnecessarily. There hasn’t been anything with this box I haven’t been able to figure out on the app. Very streamline and easy to use! So glad I chose this box - it has saved me a lot of headache and time.

Ok so my husband and I weren't cat people and swore would never own a cat lol our kids change that they wanted a cat so bad so we have this sweet girl which was an addition to two full grown German shepherds 95 and 110 lbs.When we added the cat the kitty litter was a daily chore...It had to be clean daily, she trailed kitty litter everywhere and of course our dogs ate her poop ( we did not know that was a thing) any ways so I wanted to make owning a cat less demanding and better for our busy life....So I bought this kitty litter and YESSSS!!! it has simplify the kitty litter duty.1. It does not smell as the other ones do because it's enclosed and the fan aids with deodorizing it.2. The mat ACTUALLY captures trailing kitty litter keeping 95% of it in the mat and not my floor!! The lip step inside also helps most kitty litter to drop from her paws before stepping out.3. Cleaning it is so easy just take the drawer our swift out the chunks and done!4. My dogs can't get to it so no more kitty litter snacks lol.The only con to it was the flap door our cat was not a fan but I fixed it by velcroing it the roof using a 3M comand velcro strip.

I did not receive a waterproof liner so now there is urine under the tray when i go to clean it. Pretty annoyed bc I specifically bought it bc it said there was a liner to keep from urine leakage in the tray and i got the opposite….i do enjoy that it keeps the smell contained. I cant smell his poop at all but the urine issue was thw whole reason i got it bc my cat is a mess when he pees. And so this was a hige disappointment
