They can be used by coaches or teachers etc but one of the best uses I can think of is for a woman to carry one attached to her purse in case she feels threatened.

Includes a lanyard for each whistle. These aren't the sturdiest whistles so it would not surprise me if they only last a year or so of regular use. If you drop them a few times you may be reaching into your desk for another one. The positive is that you don't really care about losing one.

It's a shrill whistle. Coaching? You want a shrill whistle. I'm coaching, so I need a shrill whistle. I also need more than 1, this one has 6.I'm inevitably going to lose at least 3 of 'em, well, I still have 3. I got these to help with coaching my nephew during soccer games. They are relatively cheap feeling as they are just simple plastic piece but they are effective in whistling. The lanyard is pretty basic as it is just a simple string. It is nothing too special. The whistle does get marks, wear, and indents if you happen to bit on it being a plastic piece. There are several of them so you can keep this with your bag or such. It is pretty easy to spot due the color. It is very durable and not something that will break if you happen to drop it. It is easy to use like any whistle. Overall this is a good set of whistles if you want something that is cheap and effective. It is well made, durable, and disposable if you happen to lose one. It works great for helping coach my nephew's team.

Purchased for a gift. My son is a coach and chews on his whistles. So buying a package of them at this price was perfect for when whistles get lost, ruined, or borrowed. Great value. Will buy again.

We ordered these for personal security, and perhaps to discourage spam callers. These are extremely loud, seriously irritating, and therefore, quite functional as a deterrent and/or alert. The 'Bobbies' (cops) in the UK use whistles to call others for help.) The high pitched and piercing shrill may even distract an attacking dog. The neighbors will hear you as will everyone around.Women, joggers, those out for a walk, elders, employees, and anyone out and about would be well served to have one of these handy considering what is going on with personal security these days.The latest news is a trend where robbers follow people home from the bank or ATM to rob them.The lanyard is well made and secure, and expect the ring or plastic would fail first if pulled very firmly. The girls comment it could be a little longer so it ‘won’t mess up their hair’, but close to the mouth and easy to grab and use is good.There is a slight ‘burr’ on one corner of the mouth section, and suspect this is where the liquid material feed is to the mold. A fine nail file takes care of the minor issue.Can’t go wrong with one of these in a few places to grab before getting out of the car, in your bag, around your neck, etc., even if only for peace-of-mind!Wanna keep your ex away!
