Safe and Sound: Twist of Fate, Book 2

Absolute must read! One of the best ones yet! :D
Warning: read this book under doctor supervision! Your heart will be stolen. It will be broken. Mended. Broken some more. But ultimately mended and filled to bursting. Further side effects include, but are not limited to, laughing at nerdy banter, uncontrollable goofy grins during heartwarming tender moments, a newfound love of poetry, ugly crying, desperately wanting to hug the hurt out of two very sexy adorable men, a need for a new box of tissues, and possibly counseling to help you deal with the emotional roller-coaster and then subsequent book hangover. This book...If authors truly do live on the tears and heartbreak of their readers, then I think it's safe to say these two ladies are well fed! This book is definitely on the list of my favorite books ever. I just don't know how I'm going to tell my husband that it's over because my heart now belongs to two fictional gay men! :D I just couldn't help falling in love with Ash and Aiden. They're funny, sweet, sexy, nerdy, with that bit of broken that makes you want to see them healed, happy and loved. And that cover! Holy wow. It's a beautiful cover but once you've read their story it has such an amazing impact. This book can be read without having read the first, but you should really read that one too, because it's all kinds of awesome itself! and Xander, Bennett and Lucky make some appearances in this one. But again, it's not actually necessary you'll just be missing out on another great read. I think it's obvious, but I absolutely recommend reading Safe and Sound, and if you enjoy it even half as much as I did then you're still going to love it!Would I re-read? Absolutely! Over and Over. But remember, this isn't a lighthearted fun read. But when I want to feel deeply, when I want to really be in love, when I want a well deserved HEA then I'll be reading Safe and Sound. Was it worth the money to me? I received a free advanced copy but still paid full price for it as soon as it was out.Did I fall in love? Oh my poor heart, yes! Were there moments sweet/sexy/funny/daydream inducing that I still think about? Yes, and I've been waiting anxiously for a week to post this review because everyone needs to read this :D

I'm gong fangirl on these two authors, they rock, ROCK do not miss this book, DO NOT can't wait to read it a agin :)
AGAIN LUCY AND SLOANNE, make magic, this book was so fantastic that I am in awe, I felt it all, the touch of fear yes there is fear in the beginning, the first look (magic), the helplessness of the hurt, both mental and physical (triggers), the healing, the love, the passion, the gift, the rage the frusteration the tears the laughter EVERYTHING (yes I am deliberatley using u-case letters, because the book is that AWESEOME) sorry had a fangirl moment there. You see all those word's that descripe emotions are what you as a reader will feel, for it is what the mc's feel, this book is going to be a re-read, propably at around Christmas along with the first one and as I await with the rest of the fangirls for the 3RD ONE ;) the teaser was awesome, hope it's a Christmas relese (full novel of course nothing less will do for the characters these two write) sorry another fangirl moment there, but , hey you will understand as soon as you read this book. <3 <3 <3 <3 Did you get the idea or get the feel of how much I loved this book I hope so, because you will to. Happy reading.

"Don't Let Go." Three words full of hope, love and strength.
In book 1, Aiden offered up a lot of snark. He was a free spirit but we learn in this book that his spirit hides a lot of pain. He meets Ash at a Star Trek themed coffee shop and, while they both notice each other, Aiden realizes that Ash is a bit skittish. Ash is in a relationship in which he suffers domestic abuse. Aiden is stuck in the past and suffering from PTSD that causes him to have nightmares each night. Together, they find strength. The strength to confront their past, their present and their future. There are setbacks as is to be expected when trying to break free from domestic violence. In the end, they don’t just save each other, they save themselves and, in the end, find the kind of love that many wait a lifetime for. Be prepared to cry.“Don’t Let Go.” Hope. Love. Strength. This book has become one of my all-time favorites.

Gritty, Well Written, Amazing
I've already re-read this book three times. I'm glad I waited to post a review until now, although I would have gone with five stars after the first reading. I read this book prior to Twist of Fate, Book 1 (so, out of order), and there are differences in the co-author's writing style. I prefer this one to Book 1--but they do work together and I'm looking forward to reading the third in the series. This was my introduction to both author's works and it led to me reading every one of Sloan Kennedy's previous works. If you go off in that direction, too, I recommend getting the bundles through KU that take you through her three main series in an order recommended by the author. It's unusual that you can read so much of an author's previous works through KU, and totally worth losing two weeks (if you're a voracious reader like myself) to her world. Her pairs (and sometimes trios) are full of sensitive, sweet men--usually one is a big, bad alpha in some way. Aiden is not the gun-toting alpha you'll find in other books. He's just a big guy with big protective instincts and our barrista is a survivor for whom we want everything. The world of the abused is sensitively done, but gritty and realistic. There's nothing glossed over to make it easier to read, and frankly, I thought about having my teen-aged sons read the book just to help them understand the dynamics of this kind of a relationship. I want them to be able to see these dynamics so they'll recognize it if one of their friends winds up in trouble. It is not, however, a teen novel, so I'm holding off a little longer.

hope and love. Aiden is a self proclaimed playboy
Heartbreaking story of helplessness, loss, hope and love.Aiden is a self proclaimed playboy. Never sharing his bed with the same person, he hides behind his work and keeps himself busy running a PR company with his brother. He doesn't want to think about his past that he has tried so hard to lock it up tight. His best friend Bennett recently had a lucky escape but it's brought all of Aiden's fears to the surface in the form of nightmares. Not sleeping well Aiden visits his favorite coffee shop where he finds a journal left on a table. He sneaks a peek inside and what he finds is like reading his own fears and sadness. He has a connection to this person and wished he knew who it was.Ash is trapped in an abusive relationship. He feels he has no way out, he has no money to escape as his boyfriend basically keeps him locked away only giving him an allowance and making him need him. After recovering 4 years ago from a life threatening operation he's still scared. His life has turned into something he feels is not worth living for. The only things he has worth anything to him is a journal and a guitar his parents gave him.A job offer has Ash seeing a way out. He's desperate to be independent and never rely on anyone again for anything. After meeting Aiden on the first day of his new job, Ash feels something he shouldn't. He never wants to rely on anyone again for anything so he refuses to fall again for anyone. He's wants to make it on his own.Aiden's past gives him an overly protective nature. He can't help it and when he meets the timid gorgeous Ash he want's to protect him from all his troubles. But in trying to help Ash his past comes crashing down on him. He finds he can't cope with the guilt and it spills over into his life again. This book is so heartbreaking. The very serious issues contained in it absolutely broke my heart. Both Ash and Aiden have very real problems that were handled with great sensitivity in the writing. It's not glamorized in any way and you will feel that right in your heart. It actually made me hurt for people that are really going through this stuff.Poor Aiden put on a great front but there is only so much someone can take mentally and when he breaks... OMG tears flowed for him. He always seemed so strong. I thought Ash would be the weaker one but he has to be strong when Aiden needs him and i think that actually helps Ash.The things Ash goes through again breaks your heart but his strength is absolutely amazing. I loved his independence even if drove me a little crazy at times i greatly admired him. His kindness even after everything is pantymelting!Ash and Aiden together were sweet and beautiful. Broken souls brought together to mend. Their love was off the charts. There are some glimpses of Xavier and Bennett in here which made me very happy! I love the family they made which is now being added to with Ash and Aiden. Lucky who was adopted by them is coming into his own and i love seeing him gain the confidence he should always have had. I'm hoping down the line he gets his own story.Fantastic angsty story that will have you in tears, that will make you feel their pain and hopelessness and then when you're not sure you take any more you will feel their hope. You will be shouting at your kindle for them to make it. You will fall in love and by the end you will be smiling big and cheering!Loving this series already and i'm desperate for the next book. These authors are fast becoming a fave of mine. The way they play my emotions with their words is amazing!5 hopeful stars!!

WOW!!
OMG Brilliant!! My heart was in my mouth upon reading Ash's chapters with Billy but also had the strength to leave and of course having a sexy customer wanting his coffee each morning who wouldn't want that!! I loved how Aiden never gave up, even though he was fighting his own nightmares but with the help of Ash came together and helped each other it was a brilliant read and for them to have their HEA even better.(I a little bit disappointed that we didn't know what happened to Billy hoping he was go to get his come comeuppance!!)I now look forward to Jake's story but of course i will have to reading 1&2 again just for a refresh!

A heart stealer
I know and love Sloanes work and enjoyed the first book in this collaboration. This was a whole different level. I became so invested in Aiden and Ashs story, the line between the real world and theirs became very blurred. I forgot there would be a HEA and worried about them whenever I had to put the book down. Even now that I know the ending I feel drained elated relieved and want to know so much more about their story...even if only to assure myself that they really are OK. Just wow.

omg this book is a roller coaster of emotions.
Domestic violence is not my favourite topic. However it was handled so well . I wanted to cry and at the same time wanted to help. There is so much going .Sadness leads to happiness . The connection between Ash and Adien is so undeniable that you feel for their situation. They could save each other, but have to learn to let go and rely on each other.I'm submitting this review a bit early as I am still drying my tears. I will have to do a go over. This was so good.

Fantastic series
Could these books get any better? I couldn't put it down again as with the first book. I know the author says these books are standalones, but l found it more interesting reading them in order as l knew some of the guys from the first book. I myself suggest reading them from the start. This story really touched me and l can't wait to read the third book. Will we have more books to come? I do hope so.Recommend reading highly 100%

We are re-introduced to our hero, to whom we ...
We are re-introduced to our hero, to whom we have previously developed a fondness in book one of the series, but here he is transformed into a totally different person, Admittedly he has a similarly likeable character, but is someone else. The plot develops positively until you reach the point where Amazon 'preview' would finish. The book then becomes a Brazilian Soap opera with scenarios undermining all the characters' credibility.

moving and truly beautiful book. I won’t go into the characters or ...
Definitely 5 Stars, if not more for this powerful, moving and truly beautiful book. I won’t go into the characters or the storyline because this is more about how it made me feel, but will just say that if you read the first book in this series, Lost and Found, and was blown away then, be prepared to be again when you read Safe and Sound. Which I highly recommend you do.

Safe & Sound
Well book 2 was simply the best. Aiden & Ash's story will make you weep. It makes you see Aiden in a whole new light, showing you how deep and true his feelings are. I thought Xander & Bennet's story was good, but this, oh boy! Really looking forward to reading about Jake, it's looks like a good one, after reading the sneak peek.

Don't let go
Two men: one a renowned commitment-phobe, the other in a brutal relationship. Add in a coffee shop, a guitar and a burgeoning understanding of how good it can be. A touch a family tragedy and good solid friends. Aiden and Ash. Don't let go. Beautiful, frightening, tear jerking and so so wonderful.

Loved it - heartbreaking and very moving read
Wow! What an amazing read! First of all, please make sure you heed the trigger warnings for this book - there are some very graphic situations and scenes associated with domestic violence in this book, and other scenes associated with depression, bullying and suicide. That said, the book tackled these very difficult and horrific topics in a tasteful and thoughtful manner. All of the characters in this series are so very well developed. Both Aiden and Ash have their demons, but together they just might find something magical - if they can only shake off the shackles of their past. The whole situation Ash was in with his abusive partner was devastating. The alternating POV mean we get to see the situation from his perspective, but also experience Aiden's heartache when he lays eyes on Ash after a particularly bad encounter. The hopelessness Ash felt is showcased well, as is the hope that he can one day be brave enough to truly walk away.I loved that we still got to see Bennet, Xavier and Lucky who featured in Book 1. I also liked the way the plotlines with Aiden's family, as well as with Ash's ex were closed out. The introduction of Laird/Oz for book 3 was done smoothly, and the book was well rounded as a whole.I felt this book was a more involved read that Book 1, which is partially due to the location the books are set in - the isolated wilderness versus the busy city. Perhaps its my empathetic side showing, but I did feel more connected with Aiden and Ash than I did with Xavier and Bennett - their heartache really sucked me in and had be rooting for their happily ever after - that depth I just didn't quite get in book 1.Can't wait to read the next book and learn more about the mysterious Jake, and how he deals with Laird/Oz showing up on his turf.

Don't Let Go
This book really tugged at the heartstrings from the first time Aiden set eyes on Ashton.Ash was a young man trying to get out of a bad relationship, when he meets Aiden in the coffee shop he works in. Aiden can tell that there is something special about Ashton but doesn't know what. They slowly get to know each other. At times Aiden uses his nephew, Lucky, to help him convince Ashton to go out with him. They both have secrets that could ruin their budding relationship, but they do work hard to be together. It is a heart-warming love story and I thoroughly enjoyed the ups and downs and the myriad of emotions that both the characters and myself went through while reading this story. Can't say enough good things about it, favourite of the series so far.Well done Sloane and Lucy!

I am an emotional wreck.
It truly amazes me that these two authors who, to me, have such a vast difference in their writing styles can write a book together that left me absolutely shattered. After book one Lost and Found, I was a bit of a mess, but nothing compared to this story. I loved Ash and Aiden and their journey together is so full of love, lust, heartache and they both have so many broken pieces to them that you just need to keep reading. You NEED to know that they get their HEA, that they get past all the turmoil and drama in their lives and that their love will come out on top. I have grown to truly look forward to what each of these authors has in store for us as the write individually, but when they get together to write a book it is pure magic. This is a truly amazing story and you will need tissues handy when you read it. After starting this story, I personally had to wait for my day off when no one else was home, to finish so no one saw me crying like a big girl.

We then have poor Aiden with the guilt he feels for the death ...
Lucy Lennox and Sloane Kennedy have left me speechless with this book. I went through so many emotions I literally had to put the book down. The physical and mental abuse that Ash went through was heart breaking. We then have poor Aiden with the guilt he feels for the death of his brother. The only thing saving these shattered souls are each other. The only thing that I hated was that the abuser got away with what he had done. I do hope we get to see more of Ashton and Aiden.
