Took it everywhere for 6 weeks. My sons love this chess set (8 &5). My only frustration is that the metal square bits on the outside get scratched so is worn looking already. Because there is so specific slot to store pieces I got 2 freezer bags for them to go into with the hope it will stop us losing any.

Simple no nonsense chess board. Fun for easy travel and playing with friends. Would like to see a stronger closing magnet. Nothing special to this chess board though

An adult might say that the shiny gold and silver pieces do not entirely suit the matt black and grey board... But children love it. Son is thrilled and cant stop talking about his gold and silver chess set. Since it is also magnetic and folds into a box to keep the pieces in, I think this was great value.(Would I buy it for an adult? Probably not.)

Bought this for my 11 year old son and it's just perfect! We take it to the pub all the time and the magnets are so strong if you're half way through a game you can just pick it up and take it back to the car with a half played game, the pieces don't fall off even if you carry it around upside down or just hold it vertically. Can fold it in half with storage inside, could do with a locking mechanism to hold it closed, but that's the only criticism (an elastic band will also work). Highly recommended!

I recently bought this travel chess set and I must say it beyond satisfactory. The board folds in half, and you can store all the chess pieces with in the board when it is closed. The chess pieces are silver and gold as oppose to the traditional black and white. Without stating the obvious too much it is portable and ideal for chess enthusiasts who travel a lot for their job or who are just generally on the move a lot in their free time.
