Ideal for a storefront- 1 replaced 2 locks
I'm replacing the main door at our salon. The old door had 2 locks--a deadbolt and a passage lock. The deadbolt was to lock the door for the night and the passage lock was to make sure the door stays shut between openings during business hours. I used to not have the passage lock and over time the spring that shut the door got loose so every draft would cause the door to be a little open and cost me money in heating and AC. The passage lock was a cheap solution to keep the door from swinging open. But those are not made for the outdoors, so it got discolored and rusty. This new lock is standard entry-keyed and has an anti-breakin latch so it's effectively a deadbolt but with the automatic keeping the door closed function of a passage lock. It's made to be an outdoor entry lock so no more rust. The handle is very easy to use and somehow combines a lightness and a sturdiness--I would expect that from a lock that's hundreds, so I'm pleasantly surprised this one is just as professional for way less. Why I said it's ideal for a storefront is also because it has a function to stay locked to the outside while unlocked from the inside (pushing and twisting the lock button does it). That's both a fire-safety benefit and an end of day benefit where business hours are winding down, so the last customers leave as they always would and late arrivers can feel the locked door reinforcing the hours of operation sign.Highly recommend.

Works for my kids
I wanted my kids to have a safe, quick way out in case of an emergency. This lock always stays unlocked from the inside. I can choose to always keep it locked from the outside, or just lock it every time I want it locked. There's a twist button that locks it till you open the door with a key or pushing the handle from the inside, if you just push the button. If you push and twist it, the lock stays locked to the outside. I also like that it's very smooth with no sharp edges, handle is very easy to pull to open and it's very sturdy feeling after we installed it. So the kids won't get hurt on it, it won't break even if they play with it, and they'll get out with no problems (God forbid if there's an emergency). It's very easy to clean too.

In-Use/Vacant Clouded over and crusty - how did this pass Quality Control?
These locks have a plastic ring between the metal and the Vacant/Occupied to protect the sticker (it's cheap) from being damaged. The plastic ring is crusty and opaque and doesn't spin with the locking mechanism. It's like it was found under the assembly line after a year and some worker decided to use it.Awesome Quality control.--Lock itself is decent, but turning the lock (that actually moves the red/green label) is not easy at all. hard to say if this is because of my issue or how it usually feels.

Good commercial grade door handle with two locking options
I ordered this door handle to replace the broken one on my workshop. I wanted a grade 2, keyed entry handle. This can be installed in doors with 1 hole or 3 holes. You have two options for locking this door handle: 1. Simply push the button in - This is your normal behavior. The door locks, and when you use your key, the door unlocks. From the inside, you can also unlock the door by simply turning the handle. 2. Push the button and turn it clockwise - This will lock the door, and it will remained locked until you turn the button back and pull the handle to release it. When in this mode, the inside handle can be turned, so you can exit, but the door will remained locked, so you will need your key to get back in.The first option works best for me since I don't need the functionality offered by the second option. I'm in and out of there so often during the day, that it would be a big pain to always have to unlock it (and I would also have to have a key with me at all times). There is more slop in handle than I like, but it should be fine. I like the handle a lot more than my previous one which was just a round knob. This one is easier to open with mittens, gloves, or if you carrying a lot of items. This is a solid, commercial door handle.

A durable lock to secure your door.
I had a good experience with this lockset. I installed a heavy-duty steel commercial door on my workshop and didn’t want a cheap lockset to be the weak point of it. This is definitely an upgrade from a standard Kwikset lock or some other residential standard. It was easy to install and fit without any modification to my door or the hardware itself. I did have to use a different strike plate because my metal frame uses the tall ones. Everything locked and held securely. All the moving parts moved freely and without issues. Fit and finish was really nice. The keys entered and released smoothly. If they don’t, a little powdered graphite will keep things working nicely. I don’t think this is at the level of a commercial grade Schlage lock, but it did the job I needed it to do. The emergency exit function is a nice feature. I didn’t do any destructive testing but I feel like this can handle a lot of abuse before failing. I am confident that it will protect the interior of the building. I can’t speak to how lockpick proof it is, however. A solid choice if you need something a little beefier for your door.
