Seemed at first to be a reasonable product. After two years the usb switch packed in and then they overheat, so dangerous to use unattended.

Good item, but first thing to do is open up the plug and tighten the terminals. When first used, I noticed the plug getting warm, which is a sign of loose terminals apart from other things. On opening the plug, all terminals were loose, I had two units, same with the second one!

Not the best quality materials or the smartest looking unit I have come across but this is to be expected for the relatively cheap price. It looks like it will do what it is supposed to.The unit has five on/off rocker switches on the top surface - four for the regular UK 3-pin plug sockets and one for the pair of USB sockets - all very handy for my purposes, I can switch items individually on or off as required without having to unplug them. Sockets that are ON display a red light, all very clear and straight forward.I found the plug sockets rather tight to use, you really have to apply some force to get plugs to fully engage in the sockets but at least there's no chance of them working loose. This could be important to some users. A cautionary note: be aware that if you are needing to insert larger than average plugs (i.e. "bricks" for certain computer equipment for example) then this may well restrict access to neighbouring sockets as there is not a great deal of space between them.On the back of the unit there are two screw holes to allow for mounting on a wall or other surface (see photo with ruler for a visual guide to size and position of these mounting holes). The cord length is good and overall the dark colour is less obtrusive than standard white extension leads.On balance this seems like good product that I would recommend. I was originally looking for a 4-gang extension lead but am pleased I bought this one with the USB sockets as well. Hopefully these will perform as expected and keep working - I see some reviewers have reported that the USB sockets stop working after a while. We shall see! So far I have successfully charged a Kindle, I've not had a chance to do more than that yet.

Very well made extension cable with a good selection of sockets with individual switches. 2 usb ports too.

This would of been perfect if the cable wire was longer apart from that it great

First I got this at a good price through Amazon warehouse ...but not sure that is the reason for this.I wanted this to replace a 4 gang extension I already have, that isn't switched and doesn't have USB ports. The cable runs behind a couple of big cupboards -plan was to take the wall plug off this and use the current cable to pull it through. However at the join it was a bit tight and I thought there was a risk that it would get stuck/pull apart, didn't want to use string/wire for the same reason so decided for now to use the current cable. (I do have quite a bit of experience with electrics -so was confident doing this).I took the end cover off and went to undo the cord grip to find it was cracked...as in the image. It is quite brittle plastic and I hadn't touch it at this stage - it must have arrived cracked. The individual wires themselves were firmly attached to their connectors so not an immediate danger -but if you were to pull on the cable or planned on moving it around a lot (especially by the cable, which of course you shouldn't do anyway!)....I have replaced the cord grip with the one off the previous one which is more flexible plastic and a still a good fit. The other thing was when I was tightening the individual wires the connectors were moving in the plastic case -I had to hold them in place with pliers to make sure they were really tight...I appreciate that these things happen and I am possibly just unlucky -and I am keeping it (with its 'repair') but it is a little bit worrying, especially as it was hidden, not something you would normally know about - and the cord grip in the 3 pin plug seems to be made of a similar plastic but was intact ...
