The Geeetech GLA10 makes it easy to set my 3D Printer Bed Initial Level. It works with or without Automatic Bed Leveling. It is ready to go in a jiffy. Open the box, pull out the device, install the battery and it is ready to level. There is a clear and concise User Manual included. There is a QR code on the device and in the User Manual that will take you to the Geeetech Wiki which has instructions, pictures, and a link to download some files to use with the device. The download includes files for beds 100mm x 100mm to 400mm x 400mm. Included is a gcode file that will move the print head to each of the corners and rest for 30 seconds while I adjust the wheels. A second gcode Test file is included to help dial in my Z Offset and perfect first layer. Operation is simple, the device is at a set height of 5.8 mm and there is a LED light on the device that turns on when the nozzle pushes down on the device. The design means that the light is triggered at the same Z height no matter where my bed is positioned. So I simply set the device in each corner, lower my Z to 5.8mm, then adjust the leveling wheel until the light comes on. The included gcode will do all the the moving and Z height settings for me.I found it just as easy to use the Move Menu on my Ender 3 Pro to move the head to each corner, set Z at 5.8mm, then adjust the wheels until the LED comes on. I adjust the wheel so that the LED just triggers then reverse direction until it goes off then slowly turn the wheel until it just triggers again. Do each corner two or three times and your bed should be very level like mine is. Then I adjust Z Offset and run my favorite Level Test (or you can run the one you download from Geeetech) doing fine adjustments until I get the perfect first layer. Take care to center the target on the GLA10 directly under the nozzle, if it is off center the GLA 10 will tilt to one side and the reading will be inaccurate. You can see if it is level or tilting when you are adjusting if you are at eye level with the bed.When we do Bed Leveling or Tramming, what we really are doing is making sure that the distance from the bed to the nozzle tip is the same distance (or as near as we can get) no matter where the nozzle is on the XY plane of the bed. If our Z height is 5.8mm on one corner we want it to be at 5.8mm in all the corners and at the center (and everywhere else on the bed). The GLA10 helps to achieve that quickly and easily.

Super easy to use and much better than paper method!

While this idea has merit, it was designed for geeetech printers. It does"t work with newer strain gauge or fixed base build plate type printers. It did not work with my printers.

Leveling the bed of 3d printer

I already have a BL touch and wanted to try this in hopes it was easier or more exact. I followed the steps, which were easy, but i still needed to make some small adjustments as seen in the pictures. If you dont have a self levelling printer or a 3D/BL touch, than this is a better method than using paper.

This is a life saver. My printer's auto-leveling wasn't as accurate as it could be so I was having issues with my first layer. I used this device with the manual leveling process and it worked flawlessly. Before I used a sheet of paper, but it is hard to tell when you get the exact same tension across different parts of the bed. This leveler takes all the guess work out of the process with the LED. I just put it in place and lowered the Z axis in the smallest increments possible then looked for the point when the LED illuminated. After that point, I bumped up the Z axis one increment so the LED goes back off, and repeated this process for all of the manually leveling locations across the bed. After that, when printing I just set the Z offset to compensate for the thickness of the leveler tool and everything prints perfect now.

I used to hate leveling my bed, using this device makes it quick and painless now! Cant live without using this!

I gave this item four stars because it does exactly what it says, and does do it well. So you may be wondering why not five stars? The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because you can perform the task that it does just as easy without it as you can with it. I would not purchase it again if I were to do it all over.

The media could not be loaded.  Ich hielt ehrlich gesagt nicht viel davon. War aber neugierig, also hab ichs bestellt. Wurde aber eines besseren belehrt. Das leveling funktionierte auf Anhieb 1a. Total stressfrei, und top gelevelt. Endlich keine kassenzettel mehr sammeln. Getestet am Sidewinder x2 mit der 260x260 Datei. Würde mir hier gerne eine 300x300 Datei wünschen. Ansonsten top Teil👍

Absoluter Reinfall. Bei einem sauber gelevelten Drucker erwartet das Teil das ich meine Einstellungen komplett verstelle. Bei Aufleuchten der LED steht das Druckbett viel zu hoch, so das die Düse voll im Druckbett steht.Hinzu kommt das die flimmsige Platine viel zu wackelig und instabil ist. Zu wenig Ware für zuviel nicht korrekt funktionierende HardwareDas Teil geht sofort zurück und ich Level wieder wie gehabt mit meiner Fühllehre.
