Global roots reggae!

I love reggae in general, and have a particular fondness for roots reggae. I just love this compilation!These songs truly come from around the globe: UK, Uruguay, France India, and more! The various songs add other cultural styles to the roots reggae, always to excellent and very different effect!While I loved the liner notes, which gave a synopsis of the histories of the various artists, I wish there had been lyrics included. As far as I can tell from the songs and the notes, the topics include both the personal- mostly love- and the political- the end of oppression for all.I have not yet had a dud album from Putumayo- but this has almost instantly become one of my favorites!

Exposed to some new and addicting variations on reggae. It has encouraged me to look for other places where reggae music has made inroads.
