Could not put it down!
This was so well written and was a page turner. I knocked it out in four days because I couldn’t put it down

Compelling historical account. Far greater story than a story of FBI creation
Great detail of the Osage Indian treatment by both individuals and Federal government. It shows how white individuals continued their racist behavior toward people who only thing that mattered was their characterization of being Indian. Great detail of the governments degradation using the law to control those that are not white men. Murder, manipulation, corruption, sadness, and greed shows how individuals will do anything to get what they want and everyone else’s expense. And it is not a story but what the Osage Indian suffered and probably still suffer the brutality of those that wanted what didn’t belong to them and willing to kill anyone and everyone to get

Well written story
The author wove a factual account into a smooth, engaging story. He is not a novelist, and I was surprised at the fluidity, which he was able to string timelines and people. Yet another historical situation, which has been buried until recently. Well written, and engaging.

Interesting and informative
I really like this book. Some complain about the amount of characters to remember, but I just use the character list in the back and I'm good to go. The topic was interesting and I'm amazed by how much I didn't know about this horrible tragedy.

Important story
The account of the Osage murders is told here. A film based on this book was released. The story is an American tragedy.

Informative
I really wanted to love this book, but the story line/characters were not connected well. I did learn some history of the Osage and the terrible way they were treated. I live the next county over and this provided insight to the tragedy.

Engaging read
This was a really engaging read. It had lots of facts, but not dry. And when referencing someone who had already been mentioned earlier, the author was good about adding identifying information to remind the reader who this person is.I didn't realize until almost all the waynthrough that this is the young readers' version. The author does not seem to "dumb down" the information for the younger reader, and I am interested in contrasting this to the original.
