A good tool, not for all surfaces
This rolls easily and makes a very clear dark mark with no effort. The ink doesn’t dry immediately, so you will want to let things sit for a while or it will smudge and lose its camouflage ability. The ink was not water soluble after drying.I tested it on a few different things, and the results vary a lot. Some could be read with a bit of effort, some would be nearly impossible. Results depend on the surface and the writing you are covering up. If you can see any kind of shine off the writing you are covering? It will be pretty easy to read (the ink seems to make the shine much stronger). There were some types of paper I tried where the ink dried more grey, too- which didn’t make it cover up black writing very well.I don’t think this kind of thing is to be used to destroy important information, but for just covering up the address or barcode on a shipping box or something similar? It works fine.In theory, this stamp should last a long time with the included extra ink. The build quality of the stamp is okay- the lid over the roller feels a bit delicate, and I don’t know how long that will last. I did manage to get ink on my fingers and the body of the stamp as I was removing the cap the first time I used it (the ink is hard to fully remove from skin after it has dried.). The stamp comes very well-inked. (The ink smells like bitter almond/amaretto)The flip-out ceramic knife (that I had managed not to notice was included until I received it) is reasonably sharp, but it is very awkward to use as a letter opener (I can’t tell if it is the blade not being sharp enough, or just the roller being awkward to use as a handle). It would probably be fine for cutting tape and opening packages, though. Note: the one I got came in a box with an illustration of a slightly different model, with both the flip-out knife and a letter opener in a slot on one side.

Git it as a gift for my privacy conscious daughter
I had something similar that I got at a tech conference a few years back and my daughter was always using it, so when this came up on Vine I figured it would be a good gift. It has refillable ink (comes with a couple bottles) and even comes with a letter opener. It’s a little on the larger size if you just want to use it on the occasional pill bottle or bill, but it seems to do the trick. Hopefully the ink doesn’t leak as it’s not coming off of whatever it gets on, I’m guessing.

Convenient Roller in Most Cases
To lead with the conclusion; you will still need your shredder. Depending on the type of ink and paper used to print the material you want to censor, the characters on the paper will still show up in the right lighting. And yes, I am referring to the ink the roller uses, not some other third party ink. I don’t know what ink you could buy instead, but I would encourage the seller to darken up the ink a bit more. That said, because it still saves me time with most documents and has suffered no failures, I am still giving this a four out of five. Lastly, the small ceramic knife on the other side of the roller does a good job opening packages, but have a care because it is sharp and will injure if you aren’t careful.

Refills leak to high heaven, otherwise good.
This arrived in a messy paperboard box. The 3 refill bottles on top look like they're sealed in the same way plastic pop bottles are sealed, but at least one had a loose cap that had leaked over everything! Underneath the refill bottles, the roller itself is wrapped in a fold-top plastic bag which kept it pristine from the leaky bottle(s).Luckily this ink cleans up with Clorox wipes. I don't know about other wipes/cleaners, as that is all I had available at the time/place of opening this box.The roller works well, accomplishing it's task as described.I like that it has the ceramic letter opener, which is easy to grab, open, use, & fold back closed.I prefer this one for my desk at home, compared to my other roller which is longer with 2 ends that I carry in my purse. This one's compact profile would get lost in my purse, but is perfectly sized to fit in my desk drawer when not in use.Because of the leaking, I recommend ordering this by itself & at least a day or 2 separating this order from any others so that Amazon does not combine it with any other items for it to leak on. I was lucky that the other items shipped with this leaky mess were all sealed in plastic wrap of 1 sort or another so that I was able to wipe them all off with a cleansing wipe (as previously discussed) so that they weren't ruined upon opening.

MUCH NEEDED. So tired of ripping mail & labels of boxes. Covers perfectly
This is much needed. The ink doesn’t dry up as quickly as I would like, it takes a 1-2 mins but that’s also maybe because it’s brand new ink so maybe after using it for a few more days it’ll fade a bit and get better, I’ve used it so far for about 2 to 3 days.So be careful if you have nails because it was hard rubbing the ink off my French tip gel nails with water and a washcloth I don’t know if I would’ve tried alcohol if that would’ve made it easier, maybe next time I’ll try itOne swipe and you’re good to go.I love how it comes with 3 refil ink andIt already comes loaded with one.The little plastic blade that it comes with does not look like it will cut anything but it actually does, very smoothly and swiftly too, I even use it to slice open plastic mailers.

Works well, odd scent
I've stated donating the packaging boxes from my online deliveries and wanted an easy way to block out my address. This works well to mark out the labels with a random assortment of gibberish letters. The only thing I don't really like is the strange scent the ink has. It's kind of sweet and strong. It does dissipate quickly however.

Good for General Purpose Use... But Has a Strong Scent
This confidential roller stamp works best on paper and does cover up your personal info to a certain extent. However, you may need to roll it over several times to completely blot out your info. I reside in Los Angeles and someone, albeit a homeless person, is always picking through our trash -- and I don't always suspect they are just looking for recyclables. This device may not work best on glossy package labels and can get messy.Overall, not bad for the inexpensive price. My biggest critique is the smell or scent of the ink.

Works Great, but messy
It works extremely well for what it is supposed to do , my only complaint is if you don't let the ink dry you get it all over your hands
