These are NOT made in Japan. It says quite proudly in capital letters "PRODUCT OF CHINA". Thanks to Hershey, Meiji needs to brand the candy "Melty Blend" to avoid trademark disputes with product destined for the US Market. So hat is why the product listing says "Melty Kiss" but the product shipped is labelled "Melty Blend". I had some worries due to the long history of Chinese food fakery, but the manufacturer is a Chinese subsidiary of the Japanese confectionary.
