Worth it’s weight!
The media could not be loaded. Out of the box, the traps seemed a bit flimsy and they don’t hold up well in the rain (Pacific Northwest) however; they work as designed! I placed one next to a rat burrow I found next to our home. I baited it with a cube of summer sausage and two days later, late morning, we had our rat! 🐀 It was a good sized female rat too! We let the rat go near the ocean! I’d buy more if I needed them! Great product for the price!

These work great!
These work better than other similar live traps. I've caught three chipmunks this week that were eating my strawberries

Put Bait In a Plastic Baggie
My first try with this trap, the mouse nibbled the peanut butter without springing the trap. But when I put peanut butter in a small plastic baggie, the trap worked! Mice can't chew through the plastic without springing the trap. Also, it is much easier to put the plastic baggie on the bait hook. With this adjustment, this becomes a very effective trap.

Effective
I've captured four chipmunks in the first 24 hours and released them several miles from my home. Chipmunks have been doing quite a bit of damage to my garden this spring. Repellants haven't worked. These traps might help me get rid of the nadty buggers. One of the traps captured a squirrel, which I didn't want to catch, but releasing is quite easy.

Very small
Set up is easy. It's to small for squirrels.

I Hate This Design
I find I really hate the design of the trigger on this trap. It's almost impossible to set even when I try to re-bend the wire a bit. By the time I get it to set the bait falls off the very thin wire hook.I bought two of them because they looked a little better made than the usual live traps I buy for rats. Plus with the rats around here I need to switch up the types of traps every now and then, so I use a variety of live, snap, zap and a few other home made ones. This one seems to be well built and the front door snaps down really well when I manage to get one set to test it. I like the size of the screen that is used because the rat may go in live, but it comes out dead after I shoot it with a pellet gun. The size of the screen is a good size for the pellet to get through and the smaller size of the trap limits how much running around they do to foil y aim. At least in theory since I've not been able to get them set long enough to actually catch something in them. I'm going to see if I can put a different trigger on them so they work. I'm sure I can come up with something better than the maker of this style trap did.

Work great
I heard some critters in my attic so decided to give these a try. They were very easy to set up and I just used a small piece of bread with some peanut butter on it. Within a few hours I caught two rats (one in each trap). I set them again and caught another one about 8 hours later, then one more a few days later. I released them all about 3 miles away and sealed up the place they were getting in and so far it’s been all clear. These traps are definitely worth the money. If I had hired someone to remove them, it likely would’ve cost over $300 and they probably would’ve killed them. Highly recommend!
