There were a few of these to choose from, I went for a less expensive version because I wasn't sure it would work, having never owned one before. It's perfect. It writes easily and clearly on glass and on metal. It doesn't rub off because somebody picked the jar up! If you want it removed from the jar, water, and a cloth is required. I have arthritis in both hands and I find holding pens difficult, this wasn't because it's a good fat one. I'm very pleased with this purchase, it was a real bargain.

There were so many of these types of pen so I went with this one as somebody else had mentioned they were good for slate signs and this was exactly what I needed it for.Great flow and easy to write with so I'm really happy with this.I can confirm that it does seem to be waterproof as I water all the plants twice a day and the writing is still as clear as day one.Happy to recommend.

After many applications still very poor

once i activated the pen by forcing the nib in a few times as per 3 small drawings on the side of the pen. everything worked so there ner.

I’m happy with this for writing on slates for use in marking plants in the garden. Normal chalk washed away too easily, but these don’t easily wash away and are clear to read.At first I thought the pen had dried up when I attempted to use it, but realised that it is necessary to press quite hard for longer than I expected to get the liquid to start flowing, so much so that I cracked a slate. Therefore, select something very sturdy to press down on in order to activate it for first use.

Brilliant easy to use pen. Very white. First time using anything like this & I'm no artist but the sign came out better than I could have ever of hoped for. Loads of chalk left in pen too.

Absolutely not waterproof, started to come off in first few drops of rain after drying for 24h
