I chose OneTouch because I found it recommended on an independent website as being reliably accurate, more so than other similar brands. It's very easy to use, painless, and you don't need to install an app to use it, but you can if you want to. It records your history so you can go back and scroll through it later. I just created my own spreadsheet to track everything and that's super easy and what I prefer. I had wanted to get a continuous glucose monitor for a long time but it seems like the "affordable" ones aren't very accurate and have a lot of technical and customer service problems, and the good ones are really expensive. I decided this was really all I need and I'm happy with my choice. It's much less expensive, painless and easy to use and I can test my bs after certain foods or activities and get a good enough idea of what's impacting my sugars and if my overall habits are taking me in the right direction. The first time I tried it, I used depth level 4 for the lancet, which is what it was set on out of the box, and it worked fine, but other times it didn't produce enough blood, even though you only need a tiny tiny amount. I decided to use 6 as my default setting. If you don't get a good reading you have to start over w/a new test strip and a new lancet. I tried using the same lancet again and it didn't work well. The instruction manual is kind of impractical but it works. It's printed on a big piece of crinkly paper you have to unfold like a map and take up your entire table or a piece of your floor to read it, and the important pictures are tiny and in black and white, but you will find what you need. At least they provide a paper manual instead of making you go online. There's a battery in the meter upon arrival and it's ready to go, other than setting the date and time, which is easy. The case they include is just a waste of plastic. It's just a small drawstring plastic bag that's only big enough for the meter itself and the lancet device. It's not big enough to hold the lancets or testing strips so if you want to keep everything together you'll need to keep the box or find another container. So it's just a waste. But so far, I'm happy.

Edit: it came with a dead battery so that's why it wasn't working right. And charging it doesn't do anything you need to make sure you change the battery. Now I am happy it works. It also works with verio test strips, I noticed the ones it came with is kinda hard to find. This kit comes with what's shown which is nice but the battery won't stay on enough to test. Pricked myself 5 times for nothing. Ordering new batteries in hopes it fixes the issue but not happy with the fact it's new and won't even work right. When I was able to finally test my blood it was simple enough. If the batteries help with this then I will edit my review.

The product came as delivered. Easy to use and easy to set up. Provides great functionality and allows pairing with my phone, which my old device did not. I did read some reviews on here that stated the lancet device was hard to use, but I found it to be the easiest lancet device I’ve ever used. I’ve had an older version of the similar product and the accuracy of it was great, but I could not ever seem to get it connected to the app and once I did, it would not stay connected. This one seems to stay connected and I don’t have any trouble with it at all overall it’s a great value.

This item doesn't work. It returns error codes around 4 or 5 times for 1 glucose read. Didn't arrive everything listed. I had to buy testing strips to even test it. It doesn't come with a charger, so by the time I could find and get one, it was too late to return. Brand strips are stupidly complex to identify for this tester. Screen impossible to read and understand. I've been doing this for over 25 years, so not a newbie. So.. I had to buy the kit, a month's worth of strips, and a charger just to test.
