Microwavable Compostable Plates Made from Sugarcane & Bamboo Fibers
Features:SturdyCut resistantCompostableMicrowaveableOne handed useTough on greasy foodsReasonable priceDoes not alter taste of foodNot from wood, rather, sugarcane/bamboo fibersIt’s a 9” plate, it’ll hold snacks, hot and colds foodsConsiderations:The outer rim of the plate is a tad flexible, with pressureNot the strongest, but they are strong and have good featuresHow had we received? These (125) plates arrived vertically stacked in a plastic bag, measuring 6” x 9” and several inches taller for that plastic bag.Weight? Each plate weighs about 18 grams and in total the 125 placed weigh in at about 4LBS and 6 ounces.Look and feel? These plates do not appear to be bleached. Rather, the plates have a very clean light creamy tan kind of look. The plates are as smooth as glass, within their interior, however, the exterior feels as if they have a lot of texture. Which does not detract. The plates do not alter the taste of those foods placed inside, including when liquids are involved. Even after greasy hot food, the plates did not materially soften nor alter taste within the time the food was eaten.Any flex? However, the outer rim of the plate is a tad flexible. The stiffness is in-between a paper plate and a Chinet dish, but still sturdy, so I am not taking a star off. These are made from sugarcane and bamboo fibers and are made in China.I tested the plate’s bend strength, by placing a concentrated (14) ounces of weight on top of the plate, in the outside of the plate. The dimensions of the weight were 3” x 3” by 1.75”. It survived, it did not fold down, but had some minimal flex, about .125”.Thoughts?Hot or cold, dry, or wet, these plates are nice, but we have had nicer more sturdier and durable plates, but those were not compostable.Made of?These 100% compostable, biodegradable, and disposable bamboo fiber and sugarcane (bagasse) fiber plates have no plastic or wax lining, they are unbleached, and were reported as being dye-free, gluten-free, plastic-free, cut-resistant, and oil-resistant. Which I would agree with. We would pay extra for these and would avoid Styrofoam plates.Resistance?Surrounding these plates being resistant to cut and oil, hot and moist foods may cause condensation to form at the bottom of the plates. When serving hot food on a wooden table, a trivet is recommended.ValueThe price is competitive with others on the marketMicrowavable? The seller indicated can, up 240 degrees with food on the dish.Sizing? These are a tad smaller; we would prefer larger if having more than three (3) items on the plate. We hope are thoughts were informational.

10" environmentally friendly, nice plates, okay deal
Pros:These plates are solid and they aren't going to fold when loading them up with reasonable amounts of food. They use sustainable materials, such as plant fiber and bamboo, which is a big plus. They are somewhat moisture resistant.'They're compostable.Cons:They're sent in a plastic bag, which seems to contrary to the eco-sensitive approach. They could use a box of the same compostable material as a container, or send them in a compostable bag of similar composition as the plates. They are more moisture tolerant than the typical paper plates, but I did notice that a plate of salad with dressing did weaken the bottom of the plate over the period of around a half hour meal, so I think a plate of warm ribs and BBQ sauce will have a similar result in less time (just eat that stuff fast!).They're pricey, but they are nice quality.

great disposable plate. better for the envoirnment
this is a great alternative to paper or plastic plates. I double up when I use it for food thats greasy, really hot or saucy. it usualy doesnt leak through and its very sturdy but after a while it seems like if you keep scraping the plate too much youll it begings to break down and I worry im eating some of the plate with certain food so I would say be careful but overall we really like these plates.

Decent quality plates
These are decent quality plates. I tend to use paper plates as an easy way of getting out of doing dishes :) They hold up to alot of food and wet food doesn't seem to soak it too bad. They aren't the sturdiest but they are better than the shiny coated plates you get at box stores. I like the idea that they are compostable. This will truly be an experiment to see if my home compost is able to break it down over time.

Good plates if you have to use disposables
Got these for a small event and they worked perfectly. I was worried if they would hold the weight of the food we were serving but the plates held up. Keep in mind these were pastries and sandwiches, so I am not sure how they would stand up to saucier foods. I especially like that these are eco-friendly and compostable making you feel less guilty for using paper plates in the first place.

Great plates
Good plates, a little bit pricey but they are what they say they are.

Environmentally Friendly Disposable Bamboo Plates
These paper plates are fairly sturdy and do not become weak with liquid food like salad dressings. The cost is more than what I pay at the local grocery store for paper plates.

Love these plates
These plates are great in so many ways. First of course is that they are bamboo and compostable. I feel so much better using these than many others. Bamboo grows like a weed and is environmentally better than recycled paper. These plates are made stiff enough that a full plate of heavy food won't cause the plate to bend and dump your food and they don't let sauces soak through either.I think 10" is the perfect size for a plate. It's the diameter of my Corning Corell plates which are somewhat of a standard. There's enough room to fit multiple sides but it's not too big to handle.I'm very happy with these plates and will most likely order them again and again as needed.
