1911
i received this mount today and finally this novak mount fit my 1911 springfield operator in 45acp perfect i used it with a at3 tactical aro micro red dot everything fit great except the mounting screws i had to take down the width of the 2 screw heads so they would seat flush inside the mounting holes no biggie will have to get back to you on how it shoots it seems very sturdy and should work great.

Awesome fit but it will require some modifications
Like many other reviewers mentioned, a bit of filing and a few taps with a hammer were needed to get this mount to fit. However, I didn’t deduct any stars for this because I anticipated the work required and have experience with this type of task. Once I got the mount into position, it was extremely secure. I installed the set screw, but I believe the mount wouldn't budge even without it. This was the perfect solution for my RIA 1911, as the slide doesn't accommodate a red dot otherwise. I'm heading to the range this weekend to see how the mount holds up.

Required MAJOR filing for Rock Island 1911 Tactical 9mm
I bought this to add a red dot to my Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical 9mm with Novak sights. I don't know whether the EGW sight is too big or the Rock island cut is too small, but fitting this required almost a half hour of filing with a diamond file to get it to fit the slide cut. Eventually, I ground down almost 1/32" of material from the EGW mount and got it to fit in extremely tightly. It is never coming off.On the positive side, it appears to hold zero with a Cyelee Calf V2 red dot mounted.

thankfully it was larger than the slide notch and could be filed down to size ;)
finally found out that i need a novak style sight mount for my rock island 1911 A1 style, ordered this bad boy and when it came in it was just a bit too large to fit into the slide notch (which was actually ideal since all the mounts i had ordered before came nowhere close to fitting). so my house mate and i broke out the files and got to work, shaved down some sides until we could tap it into place and viola, got a RDS on my 45 now and it's great. may not look as pretty as it could but as long as it functions properly, could care less if there are a few dings and scratches.

Good product
I've purchased 5 of the EGW adapter plates, and they all worked well. The staff at EGW were easy to talk to and answered my questions completely.

Total bust
This mount is supposed to fit the Vortex Venom and the Burris Fastfire III. It fits neither (I tried both) because the mounting studs are not placed correctly. Unfortunately, because the studs are also too short, fitting the front studs into the front mounting holes on the sight and tightening the mounting bolts forced the fit on the rear studs/holes. I thought it was just a too snug fit but, if you look at the attached photo, you can see how the steel studs deformed the mounting holes in the aluminum sight base. In addition to that, the manufacturers of both sights supply 6-48 flat head mounting screws which won't fit the EGW mounting plate because the mounting holes are tapped for 6-32 screws. EGW supplied 6-32 mounting screws but they were pan head instead of flat head as they should have been. To add salt to the wound, this mount actually costs more than the factory mount that it is supposed to replace. Complete bust!

Fits great on the RIA 1911
Some modification, filing, sanding will be needed to get it to slide in. After its fitted right functions great looks good and save yourself money and save yourself from milling out your slide.

Some filing to fit it is needed, but simple enough to do for even a beginner.
Took a little of work but i fot it filed down to firmly sit in position and looks great.
