Very impressed
Firstly it’s a very stable device, well made - yes it’s plastic but this means it’s easier to wash than wood. It is designed in a way that means the stones don’t contaminate each other when turned. It comes with oil, perfectly good oil, enough to get you up and running but ultimately you will need more. The stones themselves are good if not a bit better than good. The coarse stone is a fairly standard affair but the medium and fine are very good for the money. These are synthetic and natural stones which are good, but they will dish eventually so will need a lap - I have a standard carborundum one that will work fine. The device is well priced, and does what it’s says. Comes with a guide if you need it. Buy a strop and you are done for most sharpening needs. Wouldn’t recommend for high wear / high hardness powder metallurgy steels but for the other 99% of your sharpening needs this is a fine set up.

Easy & Effective To Use
Once you've mastered the shall we say slightly small blade angle block, the whole kit worked exceptionally well. I used to use a Micro Sharp Plus which was incredible but the ceramic wheels seperated. The replacement wheels are small, far coarser and utterly useless. TRI6 TRI-6 Arkansas TRI-Hone Sharpening Stones will last me out I feel.Money well spent.

Really pretty good!
I'm really surprised how well this thing works even though the stones are a bit small and don't, initially, seem to be high quality. Does a great job of producing a really sharp blade quite quickly. I finished the blades off with a Japanese stone, but the Smith's thing does an excellent job on its own.

exellent product
Takes you through every stage to honing perfection, comes with a small bottle of light oil, some-what expensive, £44, as opposed to $22 stateside, but that's uk customs I suspect. otherwise highly recommend this product!

Awesome.
A great value product that turn something as dull as a butter knife into razor sharpness. It can take time, so don't expect fast results. The polished edge you will finish with, will in some cases look & perform better the the factory egde your knife came with.
