Installation was quick and straightforward. I also replaced the lock barrel and handles at the same time, and it all came together without any issues. It took me around 10 minutes to fit everything to the door, and the mechanism works smoothly. Very pleased with this purchase – a solid, reliable lock that’s easy to install and restores full function to the door.

For the uPVC DIY’er or tradesman, this was a simple replacement that fits and matches the existing door lock. For the willing to give it a go DIY’er (like myself), do your homework first, and I’m not talking about the lock itself. Note what torx screws and bars come out of where, cause it matters when you put it all back together. Never taken the locks of myself, but thought while I had the whole mechanism including the upper and lower dead locks out, I thought I’d give them a clean. Stripped everything, cleaned all the dead locks and bars then put it back together when the new lock arrived. Did I not get the lower and upper bars that operate the dead locks round the wrong way🤦🏼‍♂️. I had the the whole lot in and out of the door more times than the number of years since door was fitted. Initially when the lock failed I panic bought an alternative suitable lock from Screwfix at £60 with next day collection, had a look on here and found this for next day delivery. Amazon delivered before Screwfix could and saved me two thirds of the price. The door now closes and locks like the day it was fitted, at this price it is well worth renewing if you are willing to have a go yourself, gonna get another for the front door now I know how easy it is.

Easy to fit into door for a good diyer and took less than an hour. As for the product seems like a good quality replacement for my worn original and for a good price.

Second one as the first went missing 🤬🤬🤬. Apparently the driver handed it to me. I find that hard to believe because I was up ladders in a bedroom fitting a new light. However. Absolutely perfect fit. Straight in no bother. Definitely recommend them. Just make sure you lube it up before fitting.

I last bought this product in May 2018 and am replacing it again today. One of the cams broke into four pieces on the old one and it wasn't worth trying to source a spare when the new lock was less than £17. Even with next day postage it was still half the price of the closest supplier to me and it lasted 6 years so I think that represents reasonable serviceability from what is after all, a cheap lock. I think the open case design is not great as it allows debris and dirt easy access to the mechanism and I have had to grease it a couple of times over the years but for the price, it is still seems good value for money. Edit October 25 - 8 months of use. Lock broken and had to remove door hinges to get door open and be able to dismantle the lock to see what had gone wrong. The lock has assorted slides inside that run on metal guide pins that are just knocked into the case and not fixed except by friction. One of these guide pins had come out and jammed the lock in the closed postion. Had a not had some experience with these locks previously, this would have been a locksmith job at about £200 to fix the issue and an elderly person or single woman could have been locked in and unable to use the door. Dismantle. clean, reseat the guid pins and peen the ends over with a drift and it is fixed for now but the whole design is very, very poor. Several components just float in the air and others are only held in place at one end despite have a movement range that leaves them vulnerable to leaving their track - this lock is an accident waiting to happen. I assumed as the last one was good for five years this would be too. I was very, very mistaken and would have to say this lock is completely unfit for purpose from new. The design flaws are too numerous to risk using this again and the £20 you save could cost you dearly if you end up locked out or needing a locksmith to release the deadlocking. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The product is exactly what was needed and does the job. I paid for same day delivery as offered. This was then changed to 3 days later, I then changed it to the following day which was accepted. The delivery never came. I tracked the package but "oops, we're running late" was all I got. So I called customer service to be told exactly what was on the website. Totally unhelpful! It finally arrived a week late!! Utterly awful delivery service and information distribution! We actually had to the part from a more reputable company! Not even an apology!
