Rocketship Run

We love LBB! Rocketship Run was actually the first album we bought, my son loved it so much that we ordered several of her older albums as well. We love all the songs, especially on Rocket Ship run. My son now 5 has every song memorized from all of our LB albums. My husband and I also enjoy singing and listening along as well. We have a few "toddler music" albums of the usual kid's nursery rhymes and while those are nice for your kids, they get really old for mom and dad! But not Laurie, she is very fun and upbeat and the lyrics themselves are sweet, fun, endearing etc...So it makes for fun for the whole family. My 1.5 yr old daughter enjoys it as well. If you like Laurie Berkner you'll definitely like Rocketship Run. If you like this album you might also check out the imagination movers. They are very similar in style and fun for all ages as well and they never get old! :)

I am a mom of an almost 3 year old and we own 2 other Laurie Berkner CD's (Dinosaur and Buzz Buzz) and have played them until the CD's started to skip. This CD has a more "studio" sound to it - there was definitely more production behind each song and it isn't as homey or accoustic sounding. This is not a criticism - just an observation. My daughter picked up on "Five Days Old" right away and now sings that song daily. The "Going on a Hunt" song occurs several times on the CD but in different music genres - that was a great idea and my child loves those songs. Overall I would rate this CD as strongly as the other ones we own. I love that this band continues to come up with catchy but not obnoxious songs for my child that I find myself humming! If you haven't found Laurie yet for your kids, don't hesitate to pick this one up. I want to break my daughters Wiggles CDs, but I truly enjoy listening to Laurie!

We really enjoy this cd. Great movement songs to get energy out and also to sliw down. They really seem to capture the spirit of childhood in the lyrics and accompanying music. Very happy.

My 5 year old son and I first checked the CD out at the library and loved it so much we had to buy it! We listen to it everyday. I as a mom enjoy listening to it even when I'm by myself in the car. ;)

We saw some of the Laurie Berkner Band videos on Nick Jr, and decided to get an audio CD.Our 3-year old loves it, and the songs aren't so juvenile that it drives the rest of the family crazy.The songs are upbeat and a mix of fun jazz, folk, and a bit of rock. The themes are fun, and sometimes silly, but always well played songs with crisp vocals and catchy beats.

My son truly loves this album. He gets up and dances every time he hears it. The best part about it is that I love it, too! I don't mind listening to it all the time, and I cannot say the same about all kids' albums. It is well written, well sung, and the musicians are fantastic. Hurray for a great kids' cd!! I bought this CD for my toddler after hearing Rocketship Run on Jack's Big Music Show. The whole family loves this CD...even my husband who typically can't stand kids' shows, cartoons, or anything else marketed to kids. These songs are happy and playful without being annoying or condescending. They stick in our heads like glue, but none of us mind. It's nice to be able to listen to something in the car that we can all enjoy and sing along to. Plus I love the look on my son's face when he starts singing one of the songs and my husband joins in!

Nice change from the same 20 kids' songs that you listen to over and over and over. Wide variety of music style even within the one CD, but all relaxing, peaceful, good evening music without being slow and boring. Some good jump around and dance with your kids songs, and some quieter in between. The whole CD tells a single story which makes it slightly more interesting as the adult forced to listen to kids' stuff. I love it and would buy more of her music.

I am a huge fan of all the LBB cds, and this is no exception. The one flaw is there is a theme to the CD (going on a treasure hunt) so there are some tracks with talking and the same song 4 times, performed in different styles (We're Going On A Hunt). That said, it doesn't take any effort to skip over them and there are still TONS of tracks on this cd.Our favorites are Candy Cane Jane, Mouse in my Toolbox and 5 days Old--love them!
