Motion Pro(11-0061) 21" Armor Rim Strip Tape

I usually use duct tape but wanted to splurge on these for my new wheels. I’ve yet to check how they are wearing but the material is thick and seems durable. Sticking it to the inside of the rim isn’t the easiest, the tape wanted to climb up the walls of the well and I constantly had to fight it to keep it centered over the spokes. It stick well and hopefully will protect my tubes from the spokes.

Applied when changing motorcycle tires. Work great!

This took a little care to install. I scrubbed the inside of the rim clean with a stainless steel scrubber, and then wiped it down with acetone. The rim strip is a bit stiff, and takes some care to get it centered. I was able to pull it off to re - center it as I went around the rim, and the glue was not damaged. I think creasing it, and/ or using a permanent marker to mark the center of the strip might help to keep it centered. The strip filled the center of my rim and wrapped around a bit towards the edge, and all but touched the corrugations, which I did not want to cover. I'm sure it would be much easier on a wider rim. It took a good bit of force with my finger tip to get the strip down in the well and well adhered around the spoke nipples. The excess length was simply overlapped, and it stuck to itself with no concerns. In the end, It came out fine. Time will tell if there are any problems.

Every time I install a new tube and tire on a sole rim, of it has a rubber rim strip, I put one of these on, instead.I guess I’ve used these for seven or eight years now. It’s important to thoroughly clean the drop center of the rim. I use a brass wire wheel on a drill motor, and then clean the entire inside of the rim with brake/contact cleaner and a rag.These rim strips are super easy to install, stick like crazy and there’s no way a spike nipple will ever damage a tube with one of these rim strips in place.The only downside would be if a broken spoke has to be replaced, it’d be tough to remove the rim strip and then reuse it. Other than that, these are +the best+ in my opinion.

The strip was a bit wide for the front rim of a 2009 Harley Street Bob. The spoke nipples sit down in a narrow channel of the rim. Fortunately it was easy to trim each side to fit down in the channel.

Worked as designed; here are some tips1) go slow and only peel back the backing as needed2) keep it in the center of the channel by pinching it into kind of a taco-form3) cut where it joins on an angle to get it perfect

Good strong tape. I recommend this product.

Easy to install, Working well. Have not had any issues have rode the Dirt Bike several times.
