Baby Driver [Blu-ray] [Region B] [2017]

Got this for my son for Christmas. Brilliant film. Any action, car fan will love this.

"Baby Driver"(2017) DVD. German edition, with English language and subtitles, plus many more. FSK Certificate 16. Very entertaining, and humourous. Well crafted, especially the driving skills, and cinematography, during the car chases; including with a modified Subaru WRX getaway vehicle. Everyone is the right choice for each part; Jamie Foxx and Eliza Gonzalez surprisingly good, with foster father CJ Jones. Some good lines, and laughs, with selected music. My favourite line spoken when a robbery goes wrong, and the team split up to get away. After a few smashes, the team expert driver has a rear end smash with two partners, wrecking both cars; she turns round, and, in disbelief, shouts "NO ******G WAY! Great delivery! Box office take of US$227 on a US$34 budget; Home Media income in addition. Maybe it's so good is why we are still waiting for a sequel, due to a worried competition! End titles list all the songs and music used, with 42,43,or 44 tracks, and clips, depending where your research takes you. However, including, in this edition, T-Rex's "Debora", which was removed after theatrical release, due to a copyright infringement legal complaint. (I seem to remember another song, a clip, was complained about, due to the singer's criminal conviction(s), but I can't establish either way, so won't comment.) 0ther parts of Regions, 2/B, and Region 1/A, may still have "Debora" removed; so, as an important part of the film, you may want to check if it is on the format you prefer. Music soundtrack Vol 1, and mainly "inspired by" Vol 2, available. Film and music highly recommended. 5 ⭐'s!

Excellent plot and outcome. Main characters were well drawn and the performances of Baby and Debra were superb. Baby didn’t sit in the corner, he was in the front seat. Worth watching more than once. The usual high octane scenes were on a higher level than similar films. Brilliant soundtrack with best song playing with rolling credits. A good hour and half entertainment.

great movie, some awesome music tracks to boot, looked awesome in 4k and was another upgrade from the bluray in my collection

I avoided this film for years because the title put me off. Turns out it's the BEST crime-action movie I've seen in ages. First class storyline, acting and stunt-work. Well worth multiple viewings. Brilliant movie hiding behind a rubbish title.

An absolutely sublime film. Visuals, action, acting, storyline, actual character development so you care about what happens, love, passion, stunts…. But the music… oh my god… the choices of songs and the way they are woven into the scenes. This film uses music in a way that few other films ever do… it is a living, breathing character in it’s own right. Watch the opening sequence…yeah, there is action and excitement… but then watch the coffee buying scene and just drink it in. The music, the movement, the timing… and then rewind and watch it again to catch all the graffiti, the signs, the incorporated sounds of city life, all built into the very best choreographed opening sequence I have ever seen. This film is beautiful. To the eyes and ears and heart and mind. It’s a joyous, romantic, dramatic action-filled musical rollercoaster. Watch it. You are going to love it.

I don't usually comment on movies but I have to say, I enjoyed every second of it!!! One of the best action films I have seen in quite some time!

Don't believe the hype: I saw the trailers. I bought the hype. The car chase sequences are, indeed, brilliant. But can a film be more than car chases? The story's not bad, and most of the leads are played well (especially Spacey). But, I don't know, it seemed to go flat in between. Perhaps I need to watch it again, but I didn't feel that it lived up to my expectations (whatever they were). And there's an inverse continuity problem at the end of the film. I did like the way the subtitles were added. Baby lives with Joseph, who's a deaf mute, so they converse in sign language which is, naturally, subtitled. But the subtitles are large, well-paced, and easy to read, but unobtrusive. Someone put a lot of thought into that. There's also a nice in-joke on Spacey's appearance in Monsters Inc. Grab it while you can: possibly Spacey's last performance to not get canned, at least for a while. Pick up a copy before some politically-correct studio suit decides to withdraw it from sale. But don't pay over the odds (like I did by buying the steelbook!) Incidentally, I don't understand why the Amazon page for the steelbook notes that it's Region-free, and then gives a warning on Region 1-encoded discs. super il fonctionne bien et en français, reçu le jour prévue

Der Film ist gute Unterhaltung. Er wird nie langweilig. Der Titel, nun gut, hätte mich persönich fast vom Kauf abgehalten. Kevin Spaceys wohl vorletzter Film. Nach seinem Skandal dürfte er wohl nie wieder was drehen. Hier aber ist er in sehr guter Form und nur das gilt es tatsächlich zu bewerten. Zur Grundstory, Kevin ist ein Gangsterboss, der die Ziele für die Überfälle aussucht. Baby ist der Fahrer für die Überfall-Teams. Dabei braucht er immer Musik. Letzlich macht er dies nur, weil er Spacey was schuldet. Einen Fahrer für kriminelle Aufträge hat man schon oft gesehen, z.B.: Transporter, Drive usw. Aber der Film ist trotzdem sehenswert. Wie gesagt gute Unterhalung - nicht mehr - nicht weniger.
