Einstein =Genius!
Einstein was a little boy with a big brain who never quite grew up. Thank gosh! His curiosity never waned and he continued to ask tough Physics' questions that many other Physicists wouldn't touch. His ability to create "Thought Experiments" set him apart from many others and helped him change the face of Physics. He explored space, time, matter, relativity, quantum particles, the big bang and came up with concepts that Physicists are still scratching their heads over.The Complete Idiots Guide to Understanding Einstein by Gary Moring is an excellent introduction to this amazing human and his accomplishments. The book also explores many major scientific developments and other prominent Physicists. In the end of each chapter there is a:"The Least You Need to Know" section which is very helpful...especially with this material! The Re-Discovery of Common Sense: A Guide To: The Lost Art of Critical Thinking

Understanding Einstein
Gary Moring did a great job with this difficult subject and did not even have to use any equations. I have read Einstein form Dummies and I think that this book is better. It contained more information and more history about the evolution of physics and about the various other physicists that played a big role in its evolution.You should also check out his other book Theories of the Universe which is also a great read and eventually gets into Eastern religion and philosophy.You can't discuss relativity and quantum mechanics without also discussing how the universe came into existence and the forces that are behind it even now and how the universe works at its most basic level.You may be surprised with what you find in the Theories book and how much we still don't know about the workings of the Universe and how humble we should be that this infinitely complex universe somehow came into existence and for all of our knowledge and research we still can't figure out how it works and for sure can't figure out how someone or something could have designed and made it.

Excellent Book for the Non-Mathematical
I wanted a book that explained Einstein in a mostly non-mathematical manner. When I was in school, my worst courses were in Physics. This author explains complex concepts in the most basic form, so "A Poor Dumb Pilgrim" like myself can understand them. After watching the Genius series about Einstein on National Geographic channel, I bought this, and it explains quantum mechanics, light-speed, wormholes, and all the other fun stuff about this great thinker. As an aside, one of my relatives got his degree from Princeton in the 1950's. He was able to attend a lecture, and had the opportunity to meet Einstein.

Very informative
I haven't finished the whole book, but it is already my favorite. It is a trip through history. The author builds science theory, and discovery through the ages, social climates, and general thinking in the given era. It's a great quick reference for scientist, and dates of discoveries. I highly recommend this book for anyone interest in digging deeper in to science. It is fascinating.

History Einstein & Physics
I have the first version and I learned a great deal about Einstein. Most of all it's a great course in physics. Easy to understand with humorous anecdotes. Highly recommend getting the updated edition.
