Wife used this to repair the laundry basket the cats had shred to pieces and did the job great.

It's a natural product so expect the quality to vary from reed to reed.I used it for repairing a linen basket of dimensions that perfectly fit the space available so complete replacement was impracticable. The minimum quantity I was able to purchase was much more than I needed for the repair but still worthwhile.

I chop this into smaller sections and provide to my parrots as nesting material! They love it.

So far have made a large fruit basket, with lot's still left, for more projects.

This cane makes good baskets but I understand it's becoming increasingly difficulty to sell good quality cane. I have had several of these roles and they do the job but there seems to be an increasing no of short and floppy pieces incorporated which aren't much use.

I made this little Peruvian style boat for my fish pond. Within 24 hours all 11 fish had died.

La matassa di rattan era composta da circa 32 spezzoni da 3mm lunghi 3,70 cm ciascuno. Per realizzare un cesto con base 19 cm e alto circa 7 cm ho dovuto usare 10-11 spezzoni. Per utilizzarli ho dovuto fare un ammollo in acqua fredda (in estate) per almeno 24 ore. Nonostante tutto, quelli che dopo l'ammollo avevano un colore più scuro, indurivano prima e si spezzavano facilmente. Durante l'intreccio ne ho dovuti sostituire 3-4 in corsa. Era la prima volta che intrecciavo cesti e consiglio a chi inizia, di scegliere un rattan di 2 mm anzichè 3 mm perchè è più difficile da intrecciare nelle parti strette (ad esempio per iniziare la base di un cesto rotondo). Durante la lavorazione ho dovuto tenere una bacinella con l'acqua da usare per immergere il cesto di tanto in tanto, perchè quello da 3 mm indurisce abbastanza in fretta ( o forse andava fatto un ammollo più lungo?)

Manque de choix de grosseur de rotin. Également les plaques de base pour tisser des paniers j'en ai eu que deux petits...en avez vous d'autres?
