Has anyone connected this to their windows pc? it doesn't show up as a drive for me. i've tried different cables, holding down the button, etc. thanks

Could you use it with a bass drum pedal?

We have successfully used several different methods of striking the pad on this pedal including: hand, foot, drum stick, soft drum mallet so I don't see why you can't use a drum pedal. I am no expert on these matters but I would have thought the main limitation will be making sure you can secure the drum pedal in a suitable fixed position on a stand to enable you to use drum pedal conveniently and repetitively.

I've read some people have had issues with this slipping on a wood floor – is that easy to solve by adding rubber pads underneath or something?

Yes.....slipping on a wood floor or carpet can be a real issue..... After much experimentation I now loop string around the pedal to a chair/stool leg. Otherwise some form of hard connection to a floor frame could be used....
