MUST BUY!!
This stuff works great! I got a new 4 month old Livestock Guardian Dog (1/2 Akbash and 1/2 Pyrenees) who came straight out of the badlands back country where she was living with and protecting a huge herd of sheep with several other LG Dogs's who were all left to hunt and fend for themselves (and they did quite well for themselves I might add!), but she had every intestinal type parasite a dog could have and was so infested that she was pooping the live worms out with every runny squat. I gave her one and a half of these 4 gram packets (60 pounds worth of dog) each day for three days in a row and you would not believe the dead piles of worms that came out of her for several days afterwards!! That was two weeks ago and she's on her second round of this dewormer for three days and her poops are finally firm and except for a few last tapeworm segments, she's just about cleaned out! Her energy has tripled and is through the roof now! Also, this dewormer listed here is nearly HALF the price for what they have it listed for at the local feed store in North Dakota where EVERYTHING is more expensive and price gouging is an epidemic since the oil boom started here several years ago (not all of us here have high paying "oil jobs"). Thank God for Amazon and the Internet!! As long as the price remains reasonable, I will definitely continue buying this dewormer from this seller every three months as needed. I live on a farm and the dogs are always eating roadkill and wild animal dung even though they always have free access to good quality dog and puppy food. So, it's likely they'll keep re-infesting themselves with parasites. ugh

It worked but was more difficult to get the pup to eat than others
I wanted to share what my experiences and opinions are on each of the particular aspects advertised about this Dewormer so here goes:1. Safe Guard treats against Tapeworms, Roundworms, Hookworms, and WhipwormsI have learned that in treating worms, it is always best to treat a variety of worms. If you can identify the worm, then that is good to make sure the dewormer you choose treats that one of course, but also treating for the gammit is not going to hurt and better to make sure there aren't a couple more kinds hanging around inside the poor pup...2. Easy to feed granules that mix into food...MAN I wish it was that easy! I had to mix water in and even then, he wasn't having any of it! So, I added an egg and still had to continuosly remind him to eat it. He just wan't attracted to that weird white powder. Also, it gets clumpy and you don't want to leave it sitting out. Especially after adding egg to entice the pooch! So there was more work than anticipated.3. Safe for young puppies over the age of 6 weeks, pregnant dogs, and heartworm infected dogsI believe that this is true. There were no adverse symptoms to giving the dog the medication and he might as well be a puppy because of his age (17 years old) so I do believe it is safe for dogs of all ages4. Must be administered for 3 consecutive days and is effective for 6 monthsAlthought the 3 consecutive days was very much a chore because of the practical force feeding.. glad it is effective for many months, because having to retreat would have been a pain!5. Each package contains three 4-gram pouchesMy dog is right at 55 pounds so I kept hoping that getting the whole 4 grams consumed was working because I again, didn't want to go through the hassle of retreating with this powder/food combo. The treatment seemed to work. I haven't noticed any more issues but certainly prefer the one pill treatments that are available out there! The good news is that the price was cheaper so I could afford to spend 10 bucks on the powder, but not the 40-50 dollars for the pill this time... so that is a choice I will have to make per each situation in the future. I will certainly admit that if I had the 50 bucks, I would have gone with the 8 in 1 pill version you can find out there. I won't be rude and give a product name from another company, and will say for the price, this works and is worth the 10 bucks and effort to get my doggy healthy!

Febendazole is a very safe and effective wormer. The therapeutic index is over 100 which means that you can give a dose 100x necessary and not cause injury in large part because febendazole stays mostly in the intestine and is not absorbed into the body. That said , if you want to do multiple treatments or treat multiple dogs you can purchase any size dog package and divide the contents to achieve a dose of 1 gm per 10 lb max of weight . Any individual opened pack can be stored folded in a baggie in the fridge for later use. The standard treatment is to add the dry granules once daily to moist (canned) food for three consecutive days. This one time treatment will generally take care of most round and hook worm problems in adult animals ( young puppies are a special case as they are often born with these parasites or acquire them from the mother's milk and need repeated treatments- in this case pyrantel pamoate is safe and easier to administer as a liquid). If you're treating whip worms it is probably better to do 2 3-day treatments about one month apart as whip worm eggs are very persistent and hardy in the soil environment so your dog could easily re-infest with eggs by ingestion through casual licking or coprophagia. Pick up all poop immediately to help prevent this from happening.Febendazol;e is also effective against the Taenia spp. tapeworm which is carried by rodents and acquired by dogs who eat them.(not surprisingly Taenia tapeworms are more frequently seen in cats). The most common tapeworm in dogs is Dipylidium. Caninum and it is NOT susceptible to febendazole. For that use praziquatel, also available OTC. D. Caninum . If you see tape segments in your dog's stool or perianal area (dried they look like rice) check and treat for fleas as well as treat for tape worms using praziquatel. .Praziquatel can also treat Taenia spp and it is the reccomended treatment for cats.Febendazole can also be used to treat Giardia and the treatment then is once daily for 5 days. !
