Not plastic
I expected this to be a little smaller and plastic, like I have seen on commercial backpack straps. It is chrome and in-your-face. It is more like a fashion statement than a practical solution.

Perfect replacement
Bought these as my plastic clip on my Rains bag had broken and was becoming an ornament in my cupboard. These little clips do exactly what they say and better material to last longer, do occasionally pop off but easily resolved and no inconvenience to me or my wife when using. Returned a bag destined for bin to daily use that alone worth 5 stars.
