Makes good chips!
I looked up making microwave chips on youtube and almost all the videos showed putting potato slices on a plate after brushing them with oil. The trouble with that is you can only get a few slices at a time on one plate, and who wants to go to the trouble of making your own chips if you're going to fatten them up with oil.I just used my mandoline to slice one large russet potato to 1.5 mm slices. I got forty-something slices at 160 calories for the whole potato. I was determined not to add any more calories, so I made up a dry rub BBQ mix to toss the chips in for all the flavor you could want. I put the slices in ice cold water while I mixed up the rub (which removed a lot of starch and firmed them up), then dried them thoroughly and lightly tossed them in the mix.For the first batch of 36 chips, I microwaved them for 9 minutes on high. The second batch of about 10 I microwaved for far less time. All the chips came out fantastically good. Dry, crisp, flavorful. Even the ones I didn't add the BBQ coating to were delicious. Next time I'll try them plain with some Greek yogurt dip I make with dry taco seasoning or dry ranch seasoning. I'm also going to try cutting them to 1.0 mm. Glad I got this!UPDATE: 1 mm didn't work well. It was too thin. But I see this item is no longer listed for sale, soooo....

It actually works!
I am pleasantly surprised. I bought this on a whim with a gift certificate. Figured, what the hell right? It actually works! I left the skin on, sliced the potatoes in my food processor, followed the suggested cooking instructions and Viola! Potato Chips. No extra salt, no oil. Now I have a snack anytime I want one. Some chips do puff a little, need to be pushed out when they are done, and break a little, but a lot less breakage than the bag you buy at the store. I haven't tried flavored chips yet. I am going to soak some slices in pickle juice and see what happens. I recommend!

Not worth the money at all
This thing did not work at all to make crispy chips! I followed the directions exactly and they were first raw and soggy, and then I just increased the time and they turned hard and burnt. Yuck. My kids were very disappointed since they were excited about making their own chips.

It’s ok.
This is ok. The potato’s will stick to it, maybe will try spraying it with oil. Some will get burnt before they get all the way crispy and in the same batch they don’t cook evenly. But it’s still fun for the kids to have homemade chips so it’s alright. Just not all I hoped for.

Easy to Use
Microwave potato chips don't taste the same as commercial potato chips, but this is fun to use to make a crispy and - if you believe as I do that potatoes are nutritious - healthy snack. I found that, if I cooked the chips until they were well done, they puffed up and deformed in such a way that they were difficult to remove from the holder. This is an issue I imagine all holders like this would have. My fix is to remove the chips from the holder just before they are done and then put them flat on a plate to finish the cooking. (If the initial cooking is on a plate, the chips tend to get stuck to the plate and/or stuck to each other.) I can probably improve the end result as I keep experimenting.

Don't listen to the bad reviews
Do not believe any bad reviews about this product. I don't know they did but they didnt do it right. This product has changed my chip life forever! I do not use added oil and these are the cruchiest chips I have had without oil. Cruchy, tasty and shall I say perfect. I might sound a little too excited but I love chips but I don't like the oil or salt of the store bought ones. I can add all my own flavorings. Onion and garlic pwdr or some vinegar. I'm sold and the price is just right. Enjoy

Disappointing
As seen in others' photos, it caught fire and melted in one spot; still working to clean burn from microwave. DO NOT put on a paper plate to cook. I suspect that's what actually caused fire. If you slice veggie thin, it slips down and out of the holder. If you slice it thicker/use a stiffer veg, it will stay upright but not get very crisp.

Not quite crispy enough
Liked this but in the microwave I can’t get em crispy enough. However if you have an air fryer like I do you can finish them off in there and get em crispy.
