Great little moisture meter!
It's a long story, but we have some firewood that is pretty moist and some that is not. I have been playing a guessing game every time I start a fire trying to figure out which wood is dry and which isn't. Sometimes it feels and looks dry and it's not. This is my first year with a wood stove so there is also a bit of a learning curve as I figure everything out. I got this moisture meter so that I can select nice dry pieces and stack the wetter wood on another rack that has a fan blowing on it.I've only had it for a day but the first thing I did when I got it was sort through the wood I have and get the moist stuff into another rack to dry. It works like a charm! The reading is pretty much instant and as far as I can tell, as I bask in the warmth of my roaring fire, it's accurate. My brother bought a different meter here on amazon that I've used but I think this one is much higher quality and was a few bucks cheaper. The pins on this one seem much sturdier than on my brother's and it also comes with a set of replacement pins and a tool to change them out which is awesome! It also came with Duracell batteries which is almost unheard of these days. Kudos toptes! It's super easy to use, just stick the pins into the wood and you have a reading. I like the different colors so I dont even have to actually look at and process the reading, if it's green we are good and if it's red it's over to the drying rack. Saves me time when I've got a lot of wood to deal with. As a bonus it's just the right size to stick in my pocket so I can take it out to the outdoor wood rack and pick the driest pieces to bring in. I am so happy I bought this! It's going to save me a lot of time, guessing, and frustration!

Does exactly what it says
This works perfectly, fast, and does what it says on the package. The screen changes color to indicate good, medium, bad moisture and the screen doesn't busy you up with nonsense. Excellent device, good money for the price.

It works well.
It works perfectly well. The only complaint I have is that you can’t get it to stay on Fahrenheit temperature. Every time you turn it off, it reverts back to Celsius.

Lignomat vs TopTes - I Bought Both
I bought both the high-end Lignomat and the TopTes. I think for woodworkers moisture meters can become fetish items, so I was curious if I could get a useful tool for 25 bucks. For context, I’m a hobby worker in Asheville who generally buys raw lumber. If I was a home inspector, using it every day, I would buy a no touch, but this has great accuracy compared to super high-end meters. But when I tested this meter against another well regarded prong meter the readings as you can see in the photos were virtually identical.I’m sure the meters longevity might be different but for me and I think for a lot of non-pro woodworkers, this meter is a solid choice.Recently, we had a flood in our house from a broken icemaker line, And Service Master used a $1000 no touch meter ( looked up the model) to take moisture readings of our joists. I noted what readings he was getting, and once he was gone, use this meter at the exact same spots and it was always within range of his.It actually turned out to be incredibly helpful because I could identify places that still needed more drying even after they were ready to leave said remediation was “done”.For rough lumber and general household use this is a great meter.
