You get what you pay for
I'm looking for a replacement knob in my RX-8. bought this because the price point is low but the quality looked great and it was important that it was universal (there isn't a high demand on the market for RX-8 replacement parts).I bought this one thinking I could easily dye the stitching thread (I use fiber reactive dyes and have experience dying clothes and rope). That was 100% my own bad. I know in my brain that if the thread is synthetic, it can't be dyed. But it didn't occur to me to check the material of the stitching. So, a disappointment for me, but not something I can blame the product for. It took me a few days to attempt a couple other methods. Good news for everybody else, that red stitching is NOT gonna fade, like, ever based on my science. It came with the adapters shown. However, they are not different, common thread types. They're just rubber sleeves of varying inside diameters. You puck the one that fits, but ideally snug to the post. Then you slide the knob on to the rubber sleeve then use the tiny screws to "hold it in place." It does NOT stay in place. The little screws just tear right into the rubber. So the knob may be well attached to the rubber sleeve, but that sleeve is not at all "fixed to" the post itself.Even if I could have gotten it to stay secured, it's SO light weight, it feels horrible to use. I suspected it would be too light the second I picked up the box it came in. I checked it out and there was plenty of room inside a hollow in the head of the knob. So I bought some tungsten putty to fill the void and add weight. (Of which I used about 5oz). It was "better" I guess. But still not good.At the end of the day, it wasn't even redeemable. Luckily for me, I still have the original one. It has 19 years of wear, so I'm still keeping my eyes open for a nicer looking replacement.I considered keeping it, "just in case." But honestly, even IF my current knob spontaneously imploded and turned to dust, I still wouldn't put this back in my car.If you hate driving, like struggling with simple tasks, and need nothing more than a place to grab your shifter, this might be the product for you.But if you enjoy the experience of driving, or if you want a knob that is going to stay securely in place, this is not the answer.

It's just ok
We wanted to replace the shift knob in a 2013 Acura ILX. We got this and thought it would work. Install went ok, but being a virtually universal knob, the install hardware is on the cheap side. The knob has a much bigger bolt hole than the shift lever. We put one of the rubber grommets over the shift lever, as it takes up the space between the knob and the lever. We then used the included screws to tighten the knob against the rubber grommet that goes over the shift lever. The screws in the shift knob started slipping against the rubber grommet which caused the knob to start spinning on top of the grommet. We tightened down the screws but there's only so much tightening you can do before the screws in the shift knob start damaging the threads on the shift lever. We don't want to spend $120 on a new factory shift knob, so we're going to keep this one until we find a better solution. We got this for less than $20 so it was worth the try.

Best One Yet for Logitech G Force Shifter
Fifth time lucky! After shopping for and testing all kinds of different shift knobs for the Logitech G Force Shifter this one has proven to be the best for overall fit and feel. Looking to replace the OG shift knob which felt plasticky and cheap, I tried a variety as mentioned which all look good on the collector's racing shelf now. The others were either too big, too small, too cold (to the touch, serious!), and would all come loose after a few races and sessions on track. This one however has the best fit and feels great in hand, plus locks onto the Logi Shifter post with enough clearance and height so as not to mess up changing to Reverse (gotta push down and right) like some of the other too large knobs did. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the 6 speed H pattern came loose and was a simple silicon glue application to fix in place. So overall if you're a sim racer and use the Logitech G Force Shifter, this is a worthy replacement for the OEM one. Full kit comes with 4 adapters and mini screws and Allen key. And as an added bonus, the gear shift knob arrived a DAY early!
