Exactly what I needed!
We used these place card holders to hold up certain signs during our wedding reception. I already had made table signs from travertine stone tiles and I wanted the other signage to tie into that look. I found these stands and they were just what I wanted. They look and feel expensive and had enough weight not to blow over in the windy island breeze!

Authentic Travertine
With a rough-finish top and smooth side surfaces, this natural travertine mini-block has unfilled perforations typical of this stone. A notched insert for business cards is similarly smooth and will hold from one to about 15 business cards. The bottom of the business cards holder is smooth, natural stone. This review represents my opinion, on the date(s) it was written, of a free product from Amazon Vine Program.

Does the job
Can't say whether or not it's the type of stone they say it is, but I like the way it looks. I use it to hold my tarot cards when I draw one in the mornings.

Depends on the look you're going for
This looks more like cement than anything else. It would work depending on what you're looking for. But it definitely doesn't look like marble or a fancier stone or anything

It's Travertine ... NOT Marble. Holds 21 Normal Cards. Part of Desk set. Pen Holder sold separately.
The media could not be loaded. This is a classic and substantial way to display your business card. It comes very nicely packaged to ensure it stays intact during transit. I am not sure why I expected it to be a bit bigger. The dimensions it gives are correct, so the impression is my fault. I think because I received the matching pen holder first, which is quite massive, and since most biz card holders go the length of the entire card, I thought this would be wider. So the first impression is that it is much smaller than the picture. But, this is every bit as solid as it appears. And once you hold it and put cards in it, it starts to take on the size you expect it to be. Essentially, it requires cards in it to make it look as stately as the pictures imply.Speaking of size/capacity, I have extra thick biz cards, about 4x as thick as the average card. I can fit 7 cards comfortably in the slit. If you have average thickness cards, I think you should be able to fit as many as 21 cards in the holder.I love the texture and weight of it and the rough-hewn top. The color is neutral and will fit with both cooler colors and modern furniture just as well as it does in with warmer colors and more elaborate carved or rustic furniture. Knowing what I do about the stone trade (I used to live in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, where a great deal of Granite and Marble comes from), let's get something straight, the stone is Travertine, NOT Marble. They are two very different stones with different hardness indexes and molecular weights. Saying that Travertine and Marble are the same stone is like saying Diamonds and Rubies are the same stone. Now, after some research, I think I understand how the mistake both in the listing and in the accompanying card you receive with your pen holder came about. First, JIMEI sells quite a few Marble items - more geared towards bathroom uses- from trays and shaving bowls to soap dispensers and toothbrush holders. But only two Travertine items, this biz card holder and matching pen holder (which is a MUST purchase). And given that the items are made in China and that the name JIMEI while unusual to us in the States, is not just the brand name but also one of six districts of Xiamen, People's Republic of China, founded in 1992, I think this is a translation issue and not intentional misinformation.I speak 7 languages myself, and while I am very forgiving towards individuals, companies I believe should know better. This is why my typical response to instances involving companies and their product listings/brochures/marketing etc., with translation mistakes is to wonder - what else did they get wrong? Making me hesitant with my purchasing decisions. So, having said that, I can attest that this is indeed Travertine, and it is of exquisite quality. Since Travertine is compressed Limestone, and if you know anything about Limestone, you understand how porous it is, then you will appreciate that Travertine is only slightly less porous. This is why Travertine Tiles advertise being "filled," whereas Marble does not. And while Travertine is not quite as porous as Limestone, it still has those same bubbles. And while smooth and touchable for the most part, those little pore edges can resemble more the feel of a coral reef than a riverbank pebble. So keep a stack of bandaids around just in case. And while the finish is honed, it has not been sealed, so expect to get some Travertine dust on you from time to time, and it could get stained with ink or coffee. You should seal the stone to keep it from staining. You can go to a home improvement store and pick up a quart of sealant, which should be plenty for this charming and solid business card holder and the matching pen holder.

Beautiful, unique, chic, fancy display holder if you are going for an organic look.
I love this card/art display holder. It definitely feels like travertine to me, which is a lot softer than marble and it's matte/not shiny or glossy. A little bit of it dusted off when I was getting it out of the packaging, but that's to be expected with travertine. I think this is a unique and chic look and I love the organic lines - no two pieces will be alike. I didn't really have the right kind of art to place in there handy, but it would look best with earthier toned and more organic lines. The one improvement I would want is for the slit to be a bit deeper. I would probably stick with cards/art that aren't too tall but if they are on thicker paper or mounted on something, they should be able to stay put just fine. But if the art is both tall and it's on thinner paper, I don't think it would stay balanced in the holder very well. It's also a bit weighty - which is lovely and I like that about it, but if you are an artist showing at art fairs, a lot of these could add a fair amount of weight to your set up and tear down. This would be perfect for weddings, displays at art fairs, or even just something nice for your office or home office.
