Having bought shop towels before--from different sellers, with different brands--I was not surprised with the product.First, WASH these before using. Without thinking I put the whole 100-pack into the washer and then into the dryer. The dryer's lint catcher was full of white fuzzies! While folding the towels, my attire (cheap black sweatpants, t-shirt, and cloth slippers) became a magnet for white lint from shaking each piece for de-wrinkling then laying flat before attempting a neat fold.Then again, I could have just thrown the rags into a box. After all, these are not exquisite pieces of clothing one wears to a formal affair, but, in this house anyway, these will be used for cleaning.It is important to wash these before using, though; the amount of lint was a definite wowser!Since I was folding them and handling each piece individually, I could see the quality of each piece was different. Some pieces were tightly knit with firm border stitching; other pieces were loose knit with loose threads on already fraying borders.This review is basically to inform. This not being my first purchase of shop towels, the differing quality of each piece was not a surprise. However, the amount of lint actually was.The five-star rating is...I want cloth rags for wipe-ups, cleaning to avoid the waste of one-time clean-up with paper towels. And that's what I got. Price is reasonable... so there ya' go.

I have these shop towels set on reoccuring order because I do really like having them around my garage/shop. I will say that they are not the best for absorbing spills nor are they the softest, but they are great for wiping your hands off or wiping grease and dirt off an automotive parts. They will clean up a spill, but don't expect them to work as well as a bath towel or a microfiber towel. Overall, they are just a good shop towel to keep around and they are cheap enough that you don't have to feel bad about throwing them away. Thanks Amazon!

I use them for work where I am a tanker driver. I kept a few of these soaked in water to clean my hose fittings after unloading so the latex does not dry on them. It turned the water completely red/pink and they lost 3/4 of their dye. Outside of this they work really well and pretty cheap so you can toss them regularly without any major pain.

These are pretty similar to the ones I used to get in a commercial shop. They are very slightly thinner, but still work pretty well.

Definitely worth it, they’re great for cleaning the blackstone. I do however wish they were a little thicker but they’re good nevertheless.

The weave of the fabric is extremely loose. It won’t absorb anything without intervention. If you want it to absorb water (or anything else), you need to run them through a heavy, hot water and a cotton dry cycle. I ran mine through with laundry soap & 1 1/2 cups of bleach. My end use is in the kitchen. I then ran them through the dryer on the highest heat setting, cotton. This shrank them quite a bit. They now can absorb water, but lost about a quarter of their size. They will have more shrinkage for a few more loads. The more hey shrink, the more they will absorb. Any additional shrinkage will not be as severe. There will be a lot of dryer fluff collected in the dryer filter. Be sure the filter is clean before & after these rags go through the dryer.

I have been using rags to put oil finish on cedar and to put paste polish on copper for 35 years, always relying on shred I could find around the house, sometimes buying scraps from 2nd hand stores, always short on decent rags. As more and more I started ripping up still okay T-shirts, I thought I should do something about this. After looking at lots and lots of rags on Amazon, I chose this package, not sure how good they would be. Well, they are perfect for my needs. Just the right size, clean, not much lint. I am resting easy, as not only is this a huge bundle, but now I know where to go when I need more. Great product.

Works all around the house and shop, goes through the washing machine and comes out clean.

Love these hard to find shop towels. It used to be that every hardware store had these in stock. No more. We use these towels for all kinds of cleaning all over the house and garage. They are strong and can be washed in the washing machine many times yet priced right for throwing away after cleaning up paint and oil spills.
