Dragon's Crown Volume 1 (1)

Since Dragon's Crown Pro was said to going to have a western release in 2018, I thought I might get this manga. I haven't play the game, but I heard there's a lack of story aka nothing about the characters and their backstories. It's all about the quest to get the dragon's crown with side quests along the way. Are there even cutscenes or individual arcs for the characters? If you played the game let me know, I'm on the fence on whether to get the game or not despite it's visuals and gameplay. I lean more on story and characters. -Back to the manga- Besides art, the fantasy setting was what drawn me to the manga. Art is amazing, very detailed and lively. As for story, it's standard. A group of people came together with their own motives, take on quests and shenanigans happens during their journey. Plenty of humor and not all that serious or dark. Enjoy the interactions between characters and it was an overall fun read. Most likely get volume 2.

My first experience with Dragon's Crown was several yeas ago with the PS Vita game. The art style of the game is what really drew my attention... and the Sorceress. The game was fine but it was the art that had a lasting impression on me. Fast forward to a week ago when I find out that a manga series is being made based on the game. I bought the book, not knowing what to expect, on name recognition alone. I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed. The art is lovely and drawn with care. The story is your standard fantasy swords-and-sorcery but I think it's supposed to be. It holds pretty closely to the game. There's plenty of humor and fan-service. I'm not an avid manga reader but I look forward to the next volume.

First and foremost this is an incredibly well illustrated book. It very much respects the source material. (The game of the same name ) DC vol. 1 is an absolute joy for the eyes, and although some of us don't understand why this is a good thing, there are still plenty of us that do. In a word, to put a studio like Udon, and a franchise like Dragon's Crown in the same place at the same time is a stroke of genius. If you love fantasy and beautiful characters, this book will not disappoint.

This manga is in the spirit of a table top rpg game. Each chapter is a more or less self contained adventure the party finds itself in, with a plot only really comes out in the end. The characters also are rather bare bones, but each of The party have enough going for them to be enjoyable. The art is also really nice, although some of the fe!ale character designs are rather stylized for my taste. I know that's how they looked in the game this is based off of, so I guess the manga artist has his hands tied. I'm conclusion, this manga isn't the greatest example of its genre, but I liked it well enough and I'd say it's worth it's price.

A epic series of a group of adventurers comes to life in this first volume of the Dragon Crown comic. Meet up with the iconic group, the Heavily Armored Fighter, the sauve Wizard, the tomboyish Elf Archer, the busty Sorceress, the Axe swinging Amazon, and the comic relief Dwarf as they go on a series of quests to protect the kingdom from the "gate" in order to locate the legendary Dragon Crown and save the world. But of course in the background there are those who wish to bring about the darkness that prophecy warns about. Can this group of unusual personalities join together to save them all? I enjoyed this, while the book read left to right, the panels read right to left. All of the characters get their face time, and a lot of humor is also thrown in as well. I do wish the second volume will be out soon as they left on a entertaining cliffhanger.

An entertaining read and features very lovely art that caters to fans of the game. My only concern is where is the volume 2 release? Can’t find info on it anywhere.

Gives more personality to all the characters and people of the game. Anyone who played and enjoyed the game will enjoy this manga.

Beautiful art, inpired by the 2013 video game by the same name. The manga is great, it follows the rules the game has in place. So there are only 4 members per chapter. They switch off after the quests. There is also color panels too. Pick it up! Especially if you're a fan of the game!!!

É uma adaptação da história do jogo. É bem fiel à história original. Há algumas diferenças, sobretudo nos últimos capítulos, mas ainda assim mantém o mesmo clima e estilo do jogo. É uma leitura muito boa, mistura bem ação com humor e a arte é muito boa. Tudo muito bem desenhado com muito capricho.

The art in this manga is amazing and definitely manages to match the gorgeous images from Vanillaware's game. The main characters from Dragon's Crown are all here and are given great personalities. Their banter and interactions are a joy to see. The way they managed to integrate the game's missions into the story is great and you'll see a lot of the monsters and places that you'd expect. Overall this is a must have for fans of the game.

Excelente la calidad del producto. A la espera del segundo volumen. Es más grande que un manga normal. El único pero es que no viene con blister. El manga sigue la historia del juego agregando algunas cosas y retirando otras. En general es una buena adaptación. Y el arte es muy parecido al de George Kamitani. Dejo fotos de muestra.
