Kinect working again!
A week ago, hubby informed me the Kinect wasn't working, and that a message was coming on the screen saying 'insufficient power.' I tinkered around a little to no avail, and thought my Kinect had died :( I searched online for related problems and read about faulty cables. I borrowed my friends kinect cable, and hey presto, my sensor was working again! :) So I ordered this from Amazon marketplace, it arrived this morning (less than 48 hours, well impressed!) and I'm plugged in and back in action!! Kinect working again for under seven quid - happy? You bet!!

Cheap full body vr
Works almost perfectly to connect my kinect to my laptop to give full body tracking in VR, however it can be a bit of a temperamental connection, but once it's set right it is perfectly fine. Whether the connection issue is the kinect or this adapter though I can't say, just make sure the blue light is on and you're good to go

perfect for the price
not much you can say about this product as in short its just a power supply however if your a newbie to kinect then this might help you, right this is for the xbox kinect power supply but also as the older xbox like mine only has the usb connectors on the back and this item is a wierd type of plug that dont fit your xbox you need this adaptor as the kinect is not usb and is 12 volts not 5 volts like the usb provides so forget trying to find an adaptor that has no external power supply it wont work, if your kinect will plug directly into your xbox then you dont need this.

DANGEROUS!!
On plugging the power supply into the wall socket and turning the power on it immediately BLEW UP! I was scared half witless by a bright flash and a loud bang. I complained to the seller and they have given me a no quibble refund but this hasn't prevented me from investigating the cause of the explosion. On taking apart the power adapter I was absolutely stunned to discover that the manufacturer of this device had used normal 'hook up' wire to connect the mains plug pins to the circuit board. Hook up wire is a light duty wire used in electronics for carrying a voltage of around, usually, 6 - 12 volts at low amps and is totally and dangerously unsuitable for the application it has been used for in this instance. It was not designed to carry anywhere near 240 volts the result of which was the loud bang and bright flash as described earlier. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE! The seller should immediately withdraw this item from stock and source a more reliable supplier of this device.
