SPV D/C - 15 LED Solar Light

However read on if wanting to use it for illuminating a shed tumbler combination lock. Although still happy to give it a 5 star as previous to this light I ordered another similar one from another supplier that just did not work !This solar panel itself comes with a good length lead to the light so can be positioned about 15ft away. The solar panel lead ends with a push fit connector onto the light module which is not really water proof. (Read below) The solar panel comes with x3 screws & rawl plugs and the swivel mount that could be a little tighter to stop any movemnet in high winds.While the light is mounted via a small clip assy (x2 screws) that the light body latches onto. This is a bit flimsey IMHO and frosts will only make it weaker. However when mounted on a verticle surface the light doesnt really illuminate a lock as good as it could do. Meaning when using a combination lock it could be difficult to read the numbers & align. What is required is an angled plastic bracket & mount everything to this. Yes an old off cut of plastic square down pipe 10cm long, cut across the opposite corners to leave x2 90deg brackets. Then heat soften x1 of the peices to open up it up to about 130 degs. Then mount the small light clip assy to this and then screw the downpipe bracket to the shed/wall. Clip on the light, connect the lead & cover with the cut off drinks bottle.(read below)The light itself has a small over ride push button switch to turn the light on all the time, the switch looks like it is water proof so no issues here that I can see. With regards to the lead connector I have covered the whole top of the light with a cut off 2ltr drinks bottle. This is in the hope of ensuring no water gets into any electrical parts.Overall happy & would still recommend

The lights are very bright but no option to extend or shorten the illumination period. They also have no option to adjust how dark it must be to activate sensor. Also they are only designed to be mounted to operate at a certain height which is clearly explained when ordering the item. Very good for what I required them for however which was to supplement some dark corners on my 240 volt system I have only purchased them and and time will tell of there durability but very happy with them at the moment

The Actual PIR detection range is 3 Metres (according to the specification in the manual) not 5 Metres as described on this website.When I installed it the PIR range is indeed only 3 Metres.

Has a very low battery capacity, poor light output and after 5 months of use does not charge at all.

Very useful addition to outside lighting. Sometimes a bit erratic, but pleased we got it.

Decent for the price, only downside is the on/off button is at the back so when its screw to the wall you have no access to it so when it goes off because of nu sunlight, you have to unscrew it to turn it back on, also one has broke after about 2 months of owning so not great.

I used it on my gate post to show light on the gateway

Very easy to out up. A strong light.
