Obviously this item is expensive for an extension cable, but as I'd just bought both a new TV setup I wanted to ensure they were protected.This item has a very nice feeling build quality. It feels solid, compact and sturdy. Time will tell how it stands up to use, but I feel like I'm getting my moneys worth. I've simply not had one of this standard before. (That said I've never spent more than £15 on one either)It has two switches, so you can turn the bottom or top 4 sockets on/off. It has multiple USB charging points. It also comes with surge protection, overload protection and over current protection which is the main reason I bought it. We've been known to get current fluctuations here, and I don't want to chance several thousand pounds worth of electronics.Another reason I like this one is that it has 8 plug connections. My setup looks much tidier now (vs two 4 strip extensions) This item is nice and discreet and tucks away perfectly.My first impressions are that the items are well protected by this Bestek device, and I'll likely be buying another one for the PC area.

I had one of those long, flat extension units close to the TV. It always stuck out too much and looked unsightly. I needed something else to feed the TV, the Virgin Cable box, the DVD, the Soundbar, and also something to plug the laptop charger into, and some USB sockets for the phones. This is perfect for the job. Because of its shape, it tucks away nicely in the corner without looking ugly. I won't bore you with all the technical details, they are all listed on Amazon. Suffice to say that this device is exactly what I was looking for. I've had it running for a few weeks now, and there have been no problems whatsoever. If you are not using the whole 'bank' of plug sockets, you can turn some of them off, and there are indicator lights to let you know what's what. It is surge protected, to prevent sudden fluctuations in the supply from damaging equipment, and above all, it feels and looks robust, and well made. There are no ominous electrical hums or crackles, and plugs slide in and out without being forced. Expensive? Yes it is. But, you get what you pay for and I expect this this to last well into the future.

Well built product. Small and unobtrusive. 2 switches for each bank of power sockets (8 in total). So each switch controls a bank of 4 power sockets.It has a high joules rating (1500J) and 6 x 2.4V USB intelligent charging ports. LEDs that light up are not too bright and are subtle and are supposed to adjust to light sensitivity (haven't test that yet).Update 03/2018 - Yes the LEDs drop in brightness when the lights are turned down. Great feature if this is in a bedroom.Product is sturdy and has a high tech look to the product. As and FYI, all BESTEK products seem to have the innovative differential when compared to other products and have an 18 month warrantyOnly negative is that they are more expensive but you get what you pay for.I will be purchasing more.Update 03/2108 - A few months of using this product and I've had no problems at all. Quality feel throughout. I will be purchasing another shortly.

The product is as described and works well. It has minimised the clutter of cables. The one issue I have is that I searched to find a product from a British Company so I could support our own economy. However the box states it is made in China. I paid extra for this item to buy British so not happy.

Others seem unaware of sizes of plugs these days ,this unit does the opposite great use of a small form to distribute sockets that can be all populated at the same time ,the unit itself is tiny and it's footprint is so small it will fit between shelves on a standard two shelf tv cabinet the in corporation of usb's is great plus they are mounted not flat but upright so pluging un pluging is made easier , i don't know why this product is listed so far down the list when you search for 8 way extension leads as the reviews left by other repeat the same virtus as i have said ,in all it's not the cheapest but it is more user friendly better designed and better constructed i gave a 3 for durability as only time will tell ,to be honest how many people ever unplug from these unit once you first set them up ,what you tend to use them for it tv set up's and the like plug and forget .

Expensive for an extension lead but the quality is so good! Really glad I got it, the build quality is really nice and it exudes confidence that the circuitry isn't the cheaply engineered stuff that could damage equipment you see in "breakdown" videos/pics. I probably wouldn't try to draw maximum power on all USB sockets simultaneously but I have a lot of faith in this product. Love that the indicators on the USB outlets go out when something is fully charged. Don't know if that's a common feature these days but the visual feedback is great. The LEDs dim in the dark which is just ridiculously snazzy. :) It's pretty small as others have stated but you can get quite a lot of 'bricks' / power supplys on it without any difficulty. It's reasonably weighty so it stays in place nicely, and the supply power leads is a good length, quality and nice and chunky. You can buy something with the same on-paper functionality for less than half the price but I find this a good example of "you get what you pay for"!

Superb Surge Protector. The build quality is excellent and a bit smaller than I thought it might be, but great for my needs and very unobtrusive on my desk. I was a bit worried about some of the other surge protectors that had reviews saying they were not able to take Apple plugs but this definitely works with them, and anything else I have plugged in so far. USB ports charge iPhone/android phone quickly and only light up when things connected are plugged in otherwise they stay off, so does not appear to need a switch to turn USB ports on/off. Very useful having buttons for each layer and would be looking for a 3 layer model from BESTEK in the future.Was going to go for the cheaper brands but think paying the few extra pounds for this more expensive model a good decision. Would highly recommend this product.
