OMAC Column Lever Corker

Used this on 3 batches of home-brew beer so far and it works well. The ability to move the lever mechanism up and down the column is very good, as I found I needed to do this for different size bottles, also you need to lower the capper so that it is almost touching the cap before using the lever, so that it pushes down smoothly with less effort. Overall, for the money, I am very impressed with this bit of kit, much better than the cheap two handled cappers. No bodged caps or broken bottles and the capped bottles look very professional.

My column bottle capper arrived today, and I tried it unsuccessfully and thought I should have taken notice of the two negative reviews! I have opted to return it. I then checked a video tutorial of this type of crimper, and tried this one again and it worked perfectly so have opted to keep it. Much more force is required than I thought to push the crimp of the cap down the bottle neck, almost to the point I am worried the bottle could break, but that gives a very tight seal, I presume that is how to operate it?

I upgraded to this from a twin arm hand held capper. Much easier to use, but you still need a reasonable amount of force. One star knocked off as the main body is plastic and does seem to flex quite a bit, might be worth spend a few pounds more on an all metal one.

It's usable but doesn't feel sturdy and the handle would be much easier to press if it were longer
