Q: Does it come with UK maps?

The basic maps supplied by Garmin with the GPS are next to useless but for around £11 you can buy the excellent Talkytoaster maps which are easily loaded and (as vector maps) are just as good (if not better) than the outrageously expensive Garmin/OS raster maps. Talkytoaster also do free maps which are very good indeed. These maps make Garmin products very usable. Garmin and OS should be ashamed of themselves for selling OS maps at extortionate prices compared to the now reasonable OS Android App subscription costs for 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 maps.

Q: Can this device be used as a golf course GPS too?

I take it you want to use it to find your way around a golf course, if that is the case then it should be okay. It comes with a years subscription to Digital Globe which should show the golf course as its similar to Google Earth. I have put in waypoints about 14 feet apart and they do not clash. I use mine for marine navigation and put an Garmin BlueChart g2 into the card slot it works well.
