Accelerated global warming has caused the Earth's upper and lower atmospheres to separate and the resulting friction generates powerful tornadoes and deadly electrical storms. Similar to the red spot on Jupiter, a giant jet-stream vortex has centered over Manhattan. Several swarming tornadoes manifest from the vortex and descend on the city. The twisters cut a path of destruction so devastating and unpredictable it sends New York into frenzy. Now, in a race against Mother Nature, Deputy Mayor James Lawrence and his meteorologist wife, Cassie, must overcome their own marital disaster, and discover a way to calm the meteorological fury. With no end to the storm cycle in sight, Jim and Cassie will go above and beyond the call of duty in order to save the Big Apple. But they better act fast, because 24 more hours of this super storm and the greatest city in the world will be history!

It was amazing how a few people with the right knowledge were able to figure out the dangers, what was causing them and save New York City. It was great from the start to to the end. A real thrill a minute.

Great Flick
I love disaster movies and this one fit the bill. There was just the right amount of action and I felt a tinge of sadness toward the end of the movie. I love these type of movies that can invoke emotions when viewing. Great Flick!

CITY TWISTER
Poor Lady Liberty! We've seen her frozen, collapsed, flooded and now she loses an arm in this ScyFy "epic."Once again, global warming is the villain, this time creating two layers of atmosphere. Not being scientifically knowledgeable, I have no idea if this is credible. Anyway, this weather anomaly creates cute little mini-twisters that grow big in seconds and manage to both freeze AND sizzle depending on what the script deems important at the time.Nicole deBoer (DEAD ZONE) plays the savvy meteorologist who discovers the cause of this impending disaster and challenges NASA and the mayor in proving her theory.The special effects are typical SyFy cheesy, adequate but certainly not state-of-the-art. Its pacing is good; the acting mediocre. The ending is quite abrupt and hints of PARIS TORNADO TERROR have wisely been ignored. Fans of this genre should be moderately entertained.
