Great pocket screw trick is to make sure you buy the one you need. This one is for hardwood, don’t put the one for soft wood into hardwood . Because your going to have very bad expensive day / lesson for today coarse thread for soft - / fine thread for hardwood Happy Days

I really like these screws for several reasons other than pocket screws. They start easy, square drive works well for me using the Kreg driver, they aren't bad to split my material and they hold well. I have not had the problems others have had stripping out or breaking the head off maybe because I usually predrill and I don't typically use them in hardwoods either. The only con is that they are more costly yet I am willing to continue if/when something better comes along. I use these in 3/4" material.

I love the Kreg screws for pocket holes as well as general fastening needs.I like the containers they come in because they are sturdy, easy to open and close, dont come open spilling screws and most of all, they are great for storing other items once they are empty

These work great for pocket holes. Used them on a bunch of cabinet boxes with 3/4" plywood. No striping. Worked great.

Every time I had purchased Kreg screws a bit was included but it wasnt on this set. Maybe because it is only a 100 pack but I expected a bit. Lol still a great brand and they work perfectly but they lost a star for the bit and wanted to make everyone aware :)

This is the screw for the Kreg jig. Drill the pocket hole and drive this screw. They do not shear or snap off. Good pricing for face frame construction.

The square drive gives it good contact with the driver. The fine pitch is good for hardwoods (less so for plywood). The construction is solid - I have driven a couple of hundred and haven't had any broken heads, which is a problem with some brands. The mechanical design with the lack of threads at the top helps the screw pull two pieces together without causing stripping. Have not had any problems with the screw splitting wood.Note that this screw is designed for pocket joinery. If you are using it for typical applications, remember that the head will not countersink - you will have a protruding head or you will have to drill a hole yourself.Conclusion: it's a screw, with no unpleasant surprises.

You can argue that the Kreg pocket screw system is overpriced, I use a cheap knock off guide and get excellent results, but I also learned fast the guide is secondary to the quality of the screw because once you snap a screw head off, you have a headache. The Kreg screws have never failed me, even in hardwood, they've literally twisted the driver right out of my hand but I've never had one snap off yet.

Making shaker style cabinet doors out of maple. Pocket screws are easy and fast but when using them with hard wood there is the possibility of splitting. These fine thread pocket screws reduce this risk but doesn’t eliminate it. Good product.
