new out the box ...hooked it up to tanks lightit once and it exploded and cought fire by valves and handle causing burns to my hand

Literally in the directions that says Harbor freight on them so I'm guessing this is old overstock being sold on Amazon or what. But it looks like a very decent kit I have to still get my acetylene tank filled before I use it. Will update later down the road.

This kit has everything you need aside from the oxygen and acetylene cylinders that you need for fuel. All the parts included are of heavy duty and industrial strength material bringing you supurb quality with a low chance of issues as long as the instructions are followed properly. The user manual is very informative and professional making it a great starter kit for first time welders. Awesome price for what you get as well! 5 stars! While I’ve done some MIG welding over the years, this is actually my first attempt at Oxy-Acetylene welding. Bear that in mind in my review because I really don’t have a thorough knowledge of it and what I can do, I am not very good at and require the assistance of a neighbor most times. I got my tanks and hooked up this kit and was ready to go. I feel like this is a good middle of the road quality kit, excellent for someone starting out or who is going to use it casually. If this is the centerpiece of your shop and your income and mortgage payment rely on using this 8 hours a day, you might want to upgrade. For this weekend warrior, it was fine. The parts came in a nice carrying case. All the hardware and connections seemed to be of good quality and durable. Everything connected easily and remained secure. I didn’t have any issues with the regulators. I liked the different tips it came with. I can’t say if they are better or worse than other options because these are all I’ve ever used. They even threw in a striker and eye protection. It’s about as complete a kit as you can get without getting tanks too. The cords were adequately long enough. The torch felt well balanced and comfortable in my hand. The lever moved easily and freely. As a test, I cut a piece of angle iron for a trailer repair I was doing. It seemed to work well for that task. I really don’t have any heavy duty jobs to test it on. If they can keep the price around $150, I feel like it’s a good value for the quality of the components and what you get in the kit.
