Our Rag Doll cat repeatedly gets ulcers in her eyes from the herpes virus that her mother passed on to her. When I asked our vet about Lysine she recommended this product. I'm sure it does what it says on the tin but our cat hates the taste and I hate the smell. She has only been on it since Monday and maybe it's too early to notice any improvement - she still seems lethargic. She is in the middle of an ulcer episode, so this product would have to work very hard to help her. We will continue using this and hope that we see some improvement soon. The upside is, that the application pump end is the same size as a small syringe, so I place the syringe on the application part and press the pump and get her whole dose into the syringe, then put the middle bit of the syringe back in and administer the dose easily. I was sorry to read that other cat owners with herpes cats don't seem to get the excellent care we do from our vets. At the first sign of an ulcer, they give her anti viral tablets, Remend and antibiotic drops, which usually clears it up quickly. We bought this product to try and support her system in between outbreaks - I'm really hoping it works. I'll let you know.
