Stier socket wrench set, 179 parts, 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch ratchets (reversible ratchet), hex socket, torx slot, Phillips Pozidrive bit sockets

This is quite an inexpensive set considering the number of bits you get. It is quite a good set for modern cars because It has all the wrench sizes:1/2" 3/8" and 1/4" as well as all the corresponding universal joints for harder places to get to.It has a the full range of torx needed too, male and female sockets T's and E'sHas common deep dish sockets for working on things such as inlet manifolds that have protruding studs.The socket drivers and the socket matings are smooth and there are no obvious rough points in these locations. (compared to cheaper home diy sets)By weight the pieces seem quite good. The ratchet mechanism on the wrenches seem smooth.The wrenches have a push button mechanism and require a push to fit the socket on, not just for removal, which can sometimes be a slight drawback.The plastic box it pretty good. Injection moldings are smooth or hidden from view. None of the bits seem to fall out unless you open it upside down, then a few non clamped items tumble out. The sliding catches could open due to vibration, but no particular problem with them.The Ujoints somewhat unusually for an inexpensive set are fixed using a torx pin, rather than a non removable bar.Overall it is a very good set, with all of the most useful pieces in it, but needs to be time warn in to see how the pieces stand up in use.There are no fixed spanners in this set, but I have individuals anyway, so didn't really want extras. This set I bought for work on cars, but it should cover all other work excluding larger machinery.I give it 5 stars for what I see so far, but the proof is in the usage over time, that I can't say at the moment.

I've had this set for over a year now, so have had a chance to see its durability. I've been very impressed with the overall quality of this set, it has a wide variety of sizes, the ratcheting mechanisms are excellent. Very impressed with the set overall. The only negative that I have come across is that the hex sets and torx etc, have rusted a small amount. This is more along the lines of natural wear and tear, and having a small coating of oil has helped stop this.This kit is very good value for money, and offers a fairly comprehensive set for the DIY'er- I would highly recommend.

Good all round socket set for car or diy. Only down side was the case. Looks the part but slightest tap and sockets fall out of place. And in my case three will not sit right. But the tools have a good sturdy feel to them.

Good comprehensive set, sturdy and well made. Ratchets are up to the job. For this price you won’t get much better. Would have liked more extensions in there but other than that very good.

Great quality for the price, if you’re using it everyday maybe the quality is not up to professional level but more than enough for anyone using it for any home mechanic jobs.

A good quality socket set with all the relevant socket range and screw bit's in one handy case very please with this purchase worth every penny! I would highly recommend.

Brilliant bit ok kit. Does everything all in one box. Used quite a lot so far and saved a lot of time. Good quality. Very pleased with this purchase.

This socket set is amazing quality for what it cost. Not a professional set, but looked after would last the home user a life time.
