Handy, but heavy for backpacking
At almost 2 kg, this is far too heavy for backpacking, but it's still a very useful device. It's value for money is competitive with other similar options. It has two outputs, with each supplying 20 W of power in strong, clear sunlight - shady or cloudy conditions, that reduces heavily. One output is USB - perfect for charging a phone. The other is DC and they include a wide set of adapters to fit different shaped charging connectors.I have a 240 Wh power bank ("Portable Solar Generator" by Swarey) that takes both USB-C and DC inputs, and this will charge both at the same time and charge the unit from zero completely to 100% through the span of a reasonably sunny day.It folds away neatly, and when in use includes a pair of simple flip out stands to angle it better towards the sun.

True to ratings but ½ the power wasted
SinKeu 40W Portable Solar Panel for Power Station, Solar Generator, Foldable Monocrystalline Solar Cell .....Brand: SinKeuThis portable solar panel came boxed, inside was the folded 4 panel solar panel, a charging cable to fit the barrel connector, a range of 10 different barrel connector adapters to fit various equipment and an instruction leaflet. On the rear is a pouch where you make the connections and store the cable and barrel adapters, there are also two pull-out stands that are normally secured with Velcro, these can be pulled out to stand the panel and angle it towards the sun. There are several ‘solar powered’ devices and chargers on the market using tiny solar panels that clearly do not deliver. This one claims to deliver 40W maximum shared between two connections, one being a barrel connector the other a USB-A connector.Set up in my garden on a sunny (UK) afternoon, I charged 2 x power banks and my phone all at the maximum advertised rating. These ratings were 12v @ 1.5A, 9v @ 2A, (I don’t have any 5v charging devices that would draw the 3A rating).I am unsure why the manufacturer chose 15v output for the other connector, it seems an odd voltage and the only thing that could be charge with that output would be a 12v car battery, anything else would need a regulator. It could have been better if they had given more USB-A ports and split the 40W load between them, as it is at the moment, I can only use ½ of what the panel is capable of, in which case then a smaller panel would deliver exactly the same power. The panel works well with its rated output, pity half of the power is going to waste!

Alternative energy
Very happy with this solar panel kit. It works incredibly well to power all sorts of devices whilst outdoors. It is also sturdily made but folds up surprisingly small and lightweight. Great device for environmentally friendly energy and also good for emergencies.

This solar panel will be great for camping and road trips
I wanted something to charge my devices while out on the road and camping without having to drain my car battery. The solar panel folds up for easy storage, is very lightweight so it can be carried out and about and has multiple plug adapters for charging different devices. So far, I've tested it by charging my phone, wireless headphones and power bank, and charging times seem decent, but obviously not comparable with being plugged straight into the mains. There's something very satisfying about powering your devices from solar energy though.Note that there's no battery to store energy, so it can only be used for charging when in sunlight and can't be used as a power bank.I'll hopefully get the full use out of it once I go camping and on road trips this summer. The only downside really is this price. It's quite an expensive investment at £79.99, which was the cost at time of writing.4 stars.
