Ordered this after severing my thumb on a tin lid. This tool is easy to use and is safer than handling the razor sharp metal. It arrived today and safely opened two tins. Having seriously mutilated my thumb I recommend using this and keeping hands well away from ring pull food tins. Worth the money and the drawer space!

I can use it fine , however the 92year old it was intended for does try to use this in all manner of ways apart from the correct one, I have even found him reverting to using a knife again. A step by step pictorial user card would be appropriate for the intended market. It is strong and sturdy and worth the effort to use.

I have had this exact model for years and use it regularly. It is easy and safe to use and eliminates the need to use other tools to help to open can ring pulls - which can damage cutlery items. It gives extra leverage to make the job easier.Some time ago I bought one for my elderly mother, she found it invaluable. I have bought this one for my Son.

Tried it on two cans. First one, a round tin of beans. Worked perfectly. Second one, a rectabgular mackerel tin. Didn't work; pulled the ring srtaight off. Maybe it's not meant to work on rectabgular tins too, but I couldn't see any details about this on the product page. Will keep it just for the round tins but I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it could only handle round tins. The search goes on for one that can open small rectangular tins of mackerel, etc.
