Love this backpack!
I got the BCA Float E2 35 and so far I am very impressed with it. I haven’t had a chance to properly use it in winter conditions yet, but I honestly can’t wait for the season to start.The 35-liter capacity is a great size for a day in the backcountry, with plenty of room for the gear I need. The backpack feels well designed and comfortable, and the avalanche airbag system is very easy to operate.One of the biggest advantages for me is the electronic Alpride E2 system. There is no heavy metal compressed-gas cylinder, which makes the entire setup lighter than traditional airbag systems that use cylinders. It is also rechargeable, so you can test the deployment and recharge the system instead of having to refill or replace a cylinder.Another big advantage is traveling. Not having to deal with a compressed-gas cylinder makes flying with the backpack much simpler, which is important if you travel to ski or ride in different places.Of course, an avalanche airbag backpack will always be heavier than a regular backpack, but considering the additional safety system, I think the weight of the Float E2 35 is very reasonable.I will update my review after putting it through a full winter season, but based on the design, comfort, weight, and E2 airbag system, I am already very happy with my choice. Can’t wait to finally take it into the mountains!
