Funny Farm (1988) / Spies Like Us (1985) (Double Feature) [Blu-ray]

One disc has both films. Subtitles are available for both.Funny Farm is a typical 80s "city folk go to small town america". It's a LOT like Baby Boom. Chevy is very funny in it but as a city folk I can't imagine going through all of that and staying in rural america. Good for him, I guess.Spies Like Us stars Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase, and they are so good together. Amazing. 5/5 stars. The plot is fine as its a typical spy movie (infilitrate, stop bad plan, save USA/the world/etc). The ending is a little bit out there but if you've seen an Aykroyd movie it's not even in the top 5 weird things in his movies.I recommend both if you like Chevy Chase, as he was the best part of Funny Farm and was excellent co-starring in Spies Like Us.And I highly, highly recommend Spies Like Us if you're an Aykroyd fan. He's just fantastic in it.

Well, I haven't watched Funny Farm yet, I purchased this BD for Spies like US...a comedy classic as far as I'm concerned. :) So, in a way I feel like it deserves a BD of it's own, so that was kind of a bummer.. It was nice getting an extra ~i guess~ but feel like SLU would be nice with even a simple "making of" or behind the scenes featurette instead of just throwing in an extra movie that somehow makde it feel like it's status was lowered.Anyway, SLU....great characters, great funny lines and a lot of subtle humor throughout. It's just a original story with great twists, great locations and some beautiful women.As far as quality goes, it's a big jump over the DVD i had. So if you have a DVD of SLU and and wondering if it's worth purchasing the BD... it's a no brainer...wider (original) format, better image quality..all you'd expect with HD.~HOWEVER~ once again (like packing this great film with Funny Farm) i feel they didn't do SLU justice because it could have used some color grading and correction) i seems like they just pushed the "auto correct" button. For example, the scene right after they cheated on the test and they're in the office being reprimanded/promoted...visually that was pretty dark with "squashed"...the blacks were too heavy with too much contrast. Outdoor scenes seem to be OK however. I remember the DVD being overall a bit lighter with less heavy handed contrast.Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait for the 4K version to come out :) by that time (very soon i hope :) ) SLU will have received it's true status of cult comedy classic and they will decide to make a featurette and spent some time on adjusting the colors/contrast. Fingers crossed~!

It's nice to get this double feature in blu-ray. The movies are quite silly and not Chevy Chase's best, however, they are fun to watch again. We are big fans of many of his movies and among his best are: Seems Like Old Times with Goldie Hahn, of course Vacation 1,2,3, The Invisible Man, Foul Play, Caddy Shack, etc.

VERY GOOD

Two of the best Chevy movies! I still believe Funny Farm is his best, clever and well-written work. For example, he moves to the country to write the great american novel...which suggests he's creative, yet, he names his new golden retriever, "yellow dog"...that's the level of his character's creativity...too funny. Spies Like Us with Dan Aykroyd speaks for itself, an 80's classic!Also see Fletch 2, Foul Play, Modern Problems, Under the Rainbow, Caddy Shack, Vacation and Christmas Vacation.

Perfectly incorporated together of the both films. You can’t stop 🛑 laughing from beginning to the end, especially the “the training” sequence “ of Spies Like Us....it’s hilarious!!!Phil O’Keefe

I gave this a five star review due to Spies Like Us. That is a great movie. I am a Chevy Chase fan but really didn’t care for Funny Farm.

Time to reassess this film from legendary director John Landis; just bought this combo blu ray. What I would like to see is a stand-alone release with remastered picture and audio, for why?Well how about the great Elmer Bernstein score for one and the amazing special effects cinematography from Thunderbirds and 007 legend, Derek Meddings?John Landis' film was just ahead of its time when it hit screens in 1985. This big budget spy spoof / on the road movie was later re-imagined by Mike Myers blockbuster Austin Powers in 1997. But Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd is a great paring. With cameos from the world of cinema from terry Gilliam to Ray Harryhausen, this is definitely one for the fan-boys.
