Solely Surviving 💔
Imprisoned, assaulted, abused. To be "cleansed from their unrighteousness". Eighteen girls dead. Their lives ended and future stolen in the span of five yearsOne survivor.Harlow, imprisoned by the deranged and mentally diseased Pastor and his wife, her life caged and in fear.Sabre Security, investigators and prestigious private security firm in England. Given the case of solving Britain's most notorious serial killer case and to protect it's sole survivor.Hunter, leader of Sabre SecurityEnzo, second in command and the enforcerLeighton, Hunter's criminal brotherTheo team techieHunter, Enzo, and Theo having lost so much over the past several years are unsure about themselves reopening old wounds and their hearts with Harlow. Automatically drawn to her, her innocence and her strength, they find it more and more difficult as the line between her being their future and her being their client becomes blurred. With this being the first in the reverse harem series, the steam and spice was definitely a slow burn. This gave more focus to the characters themselves for each to individually develop along with their relationships. The dark psychological and physical life Harlow was subjected to and breathed was written with such finite detail, I broke for her. Their story is not yet complete as well as the crimes, more to be unearthed in the next book, Skeletal Hearts.

Dark and Delightful
Yet again, the author delivered a fantastic book. To say I was hooked from the start is an understatement—so many emotions. At times it's heartbreaking; I couldn't stop crying. It’s also intense and equally delightful.I’m in such awe of our heroine, Harlow. The horrors she witnessed and went through and survived. She is a lot stronger than what she gives herself. Do not underestimate her. Then the men. Each one is equally important to Harlow. Hunter is a hard one to crack but loves deeply. Enzo is brutal but very much soft, and Harlow has his heart. Theo is borderline obsessed but tries to keep a safe distance. Leighton is comical and more light-hearted in the group. Each one with their demons and is fiercely protective of Harlow. It's hard to pick one favorite in this group.Corpse Road starts dark; on my dark scale, it's black. It does not stop throughout the book. I was worried the darkness would fizzle, but it didn't. Seriously, I should have known better about the author. The plot is fantastic, with a sadistic religious setting of a serial killer. Now to wait for the next book to see what happens; I can't wait

Corpse Roads 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I freaking loved this one so much! This one follows characters you meet in the final Blackwood Institute book and I couldn't wait to get in their minds. We also get a glimpse of Brooklyn as well!Corpse Roads is dark. It's heavy like Blackwood, but on a different level. Harlow feels broken, and she may be, but Hunter, Theo, Leigh and Enzo will do what it takes to protect her and put her back together. She struggles a lot and has a ton of PTSD.As always, I am so glad that J. Rose doesn't shy away from the gritty side of mental health. It's raw and emotional and heavy.I was hanging on every word just waiting for something to happen to Harlow. I didn't know what was going to happen at the end, but I was not expecting to read what I did. I cannot wait for Skeletal Hearts.

Absolutely Amazing
That was such a great book I can’t wait for book two. I loved all the guys they’re all different but all very protective of Harlow. Enzo Theo Leighton an Hunter are great. You get to read about them in Blackwood Institute series but you don’t have to read that series to understand this one. The cliffhanger in the book was actually surprising I didn’t expect that to happen. The twists an turns in this book keep you so in gaged you don’t even realize how long you’ve been reading. It was also great to see the characters from Blackwood Institute Brooklyn an her guys pop up in the book as well. The multiple POVs are excellent an I love read the other characters POVs as well gives you insight into what they’re thinking as well.

Gripping suspense
I stumbled upon this by accident but was intrigued by the blurb. Harlow's story is definitely gruesome, vivid, and horror at its worst. Pay close attention to the TWs. All of that being said, Harlow is an inspiring fmc. Not that she comes out stronger or unscathed, no, in fact her PTSD is serious as is her survivors guilt. What's inspiring is the solid core of her will that refuses to stay down. I'm all in for Harlow! The guys are their own versions of broken but we get some beautiful glimmers in this first book of how this group might heal by coming together. I wish book two was already out. I'll be keeping an eye out for this to release!

Heart wrenching
This pulled the heart strings. I wanted more from the Sabre men due to what happened to Alyssa. I needed to know that they healed and forgave themselves. I knew the way they were written that this wouldn't be a simple or easy fix. They were left broken and lost without their heart. Harlow gives them purpose and a reason to come back together. Not to replace what was lost but to heal and move forward together as a family unit. I look forward to the continuation of their journey.

Caution! Danger Ahead!!!
I could NOT put this book down!I begrudgingly admitted defeat after my kindle fell on my face for the 4th time and went to sleep. Only to pick up as soon as I woke up. I called into work to finish this book! This rollercoaster of a book is beautifully written. It makes you feel all warm and cozy and then slaps you in the face.Hands down one of the best books I've read this year.

Another mind blowing story
There aren't adequate words. I thought I loved the Sabre boys when we met them in Blackwood. Now? Obsessed! I adore them. This was a spine tingling, edge of my seat, can't put it down, book. And the cliff hanger isn't completely debilitating, so I won't suffer too much before the next book comes out. But I will miss these characters until then!

Harrowing tale
This is an emotional rollercoaster of a book covering a harrowing subject, our FMC Harlow has been held in captivity and brutalised for as long as she can remember. After escaping she is placed with the ‘Sabre” team who are tasked with tracking down the serial killer.Harlow is a broken shell who has been locked away since she was a small child so seeing her interact with modern life is bittersweet. Leighton seems to connect with her the easiest tho she has different relationships with all the guys. All the guys are dealing with trauma of their own and all of them together makes for a turbulent mix.Love Harlow, after her daring escape she’s determined to be more than “little” and take control of her life. The ending is so good, I’m dying to find out what happens next, will they catch up with “Pastor Michaels” and stop this brutal serial killer, why had he kept Harlow alive and why is she important to him?

J Rose Perfection!
Yet again, J Rose has gone above and beyond any expectation I have from her writing. This book is heartbreaking at times, intense and will hook you from the first sentence. The perfect representation of how a dark slow burn RH should be done.Harlow, our FMC is such a strong person. She's not a badass in your typical sense, but she's a fighter and she keeps fighting at every turn. Honestly, Harlow needs to be protected at all costs. The men, are strong alphas who basically turn to butter around her - and I love it.This book is simply put, fantastic. The plot is incredible - I can't wait for the next book to find out more and to find out who this radicalised religious serial killer is.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. This is highly emotional read that beautifully addresses the horror of being a survivor and PTSD. Their are also four incredible male characters that are troubled in their own way. This set upon a background that would make for a fantastic murder documentary. What an incredible read.
