Peptac Peppermint Liquid x 500ml

Shocked at how much the price of Gaviscon Double Action liquid has gone up over the past year I decided to search for a replacement. Reading various reviews, this proved to be harder than I expected especially as I needed a replacement for the Double Action Gaviscon, not the basic Gaviscon liquid. Decided to try Peptac. And I have to say I am delighted with my choice. Its a little bit more viscous that Double Action and it most certainly has a more pepperminty taste. Its actually more pleasant to take the the Gaviscon was. The results? Well in my experience its no better and certainly no worse that Gavsicon Double Action. Its every bit as good and its half the price. Result!

I've ordered this a few times for my husband. He says it's no different to the more expensive branded versions. It taste fine, works well (and provides relief quickly) and there's plenty in the bottle. We will order again, happy to recommend.

Although this is not absolutely the very best indigestion mixture that I have tried, for the money it is good value. I think the same company does a more expensive one which may be more effective but this is good enough for me. It’s the second time I’ve ordered it and I am impressed at how well packaged it is. Arrived when promised. Would recommend this seller.

UPDATE!!- Went to order ANOTHER 4 bottles, as bought on 11th April, and now notice its price has doubled!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED and I hope that it's the result of genuine materials and supply shortages rather than 'hard business'! I'm 78 and have used Gaviscon since I was 16; so I've almost used it professionally! :) I get through approx 2 bottles of Gaviscon per month and found myself having very little anti-acid to hand and panicked when wasn't able to get hold of my usual Gaviscon. For info, this shortage & related price explosion was due to the shortage of 'sodium alginate' from Norway. Peppermint flavourings have also been in short supply for some time. So I was VERY pleased with Peptac and its very fast delivery from 'Pharmacy Prime'. I found that the consistency/viscosity was very similar to Gaviscon ADVANCED (thicker than the 'normal' one) as was the peppermint flavour. It definitely works but it's difficult to compare the results, however it seems that they're close in my case. I'm not surprised that this item is an Amazon Choice and, not for the first time, was grateful for the existence of Amazon. A great product at a great price with great service from Pharmacy Prime. Highly Recommended.
